Story Behind The Song
I wrote the guitar part while my older brother, who's also a musician, was improvising vocal melodies and lyrics over top of it. We both loved the way it sounded, but when I left his apartment and returned home that evening I came up with my own melody and lyrics for it. It immediately reminded me of one of Mutual Benefit's "Love's Crushing Diamond," which is one of my favourite albums, and I knew that if there was any chance of recruiting violinist Jake Falby (Mutual Benefit, Julie Byrne, Khaled) I had to try. I managed to contact Jake and I couldn't be happier with how the arrangement and the other parts of the song came together.

Lyrics
Where did the day go?
It just got away so slow
These days I'm of the mind that
It's impossible to know
How and how and how and how
Time flows
Flows and flows and flows and flows
Over me
Where did the night go?
It just paled like the moon
These nights I'm of the mind that
Light and dark are one
Time and time and time and time
Again
It flows and flows and flows and flows
Right past the end
Where did my love go?
She just fell out of my arms
These times I'm of the mind that
Light and dark are one
Love and love and love and love
My oh my
It runs and runs and runs and runs
Until it runs dry
Love and love and love and love (time flows time flows)
