One Too Many Times

Story Behind The Song

I was inspired to write this song from a point of view of someone with experience. I'm a little older, so this character in the song has lived enough life to sit and think about the good choices, bad choices and reflect on all of it. He may be wondering about roads not taken but also accepting that this is how thing turned out as well, which that might be little autobiographical if I'm being completely honest.

Lyrics

Up on the mountain
Out on the road
Livin and learning
What do I know

Some say history repeats and rhymes
I've heard that one too many times

You said that you loved me
I couldn't stay
The world kept turning
While I was away

Some say history repeats and rhymes
I've heard that one too many times
Chasing a mystery for nickels and dimes
I've heard that one too many times

Some say history repeats and rhymes
I've heard that one too many times
Chasing a mystery for nickels and dimes
I've heard that one too many times
