Story Behind The Song
I'm originally from central Kentucky so I've definitely connected with and been influenced by traditional Bluegrass and Southern Gospel tunes over the years. I've always found it a little funny and cool that the lyrics of those old songs are pretty matter of fact and straight forward. I wanted to just lay it out in the song that if these two folks are going to get together then one expects the other to be on the same page and committed.

Lyrics
You can trust it you can love it
Babe right from the start
You can take it but don't you break it
Please be gentle with my heart, please be gentle with my heart
In times of trouble in times of joy
When I struggle don't be coy
Say you'll be my truest friend
Stay with me until the end
If you're care free treat me unfairly
I know I must depart
but if you're faithful I'll be grateful
Please be gentle with my heart, please be gentle with my heart
In times of trouble in times of joy
When I struggle don't be coy
Say you'll be my truest friend
Stay with me until the end
You can trust it you can love it
Babe right from the start
You can take it but don't you break it
Please be gentle with my heart, please be gentle with my heart
