Story Behind The Song
I had a dream (a nightmare) on June 30, 2010, about orphans around the world. I eventually saw that "ignoring" their plight (by our inaction) meant something to God: that He loved "those children" as much as He loved "my children", and that I should do something to ease their suffering, as I would for my own child. The song began that day.
Song Description
Challenge to the world, and people of faith in particular, to reach out and help the marginalized, the homeless, the orphan, "the forgotten".

Lyrics
Vs. 1:
One fleeting breath, no strength is left
Her cries for help have been disregarded
The face of death, all too familiar in her town
Can hope be found?
Who's to say this child can't grow up and live to
Change the world as we know it?
Chorus:
How can we abandon the least of these
How can we overlook their hungry eyes, and MISS the face of God?
How will we answer mercy's call?
How will we remember... the forgotten?
Vs. 2:
His pain so deep, he cannot dream
His life has worth, a silhouette of God
From discarded to destined for hope
How will he know?
Who's to say that we can't reach out to help and
Change the world as we know it?
[Chorus]
Bridge:
To rescue generations, or save a single life
Trading desperation for hope... with the love of Christ
[Chorus]
