Story Behind The Song
One Way Ride
Being on stage is a rush, but to really deliver the goods, you gotta get higher. He started out easy, doing it just for fun. Then he started needing a little more each time. That's what it took to sustain the high level expected of him, the status of the Hurricane. Who cares, right? He took care of business and the world of rock was a better place with him at the top of his game. Ryan could burn the candle at both ends by making great music for his audience, and still hang with bad company. Back when he was an opening act, he got to partying backstage with one of his idols after the show one night. That weary performer who had played all over the world looked at him through burned out eyes and told him that for many, this life ends up being a One Way Ride to madness. Well Ryan Silver was about to get a first class ticket.

Lyrics
One Way Ride
V1 - Step into the neon lights
Let them see you shine tonight
Victim of these dirty streets
The pusher preys upon the weak
Only wish is to come clean
You know what that's gonna mean
Chorus-
One way ride no ticket back
From a place you can't escape
It's safe in here if you just ask
It's alright
Only putting on a show
Only putting on a show
V2 - Start out easy just for fun
Some damage can't be undone
A little more and you'll be there
Past the point where no one cares
One level above a dream
Craving the insanity
Chorus-
Bridge-
Burn a candle round and round
At both ends and up & down
If there's a lesson to be learned
Play with fire you'll get burned
V3 - It's been a while it's good to see
You can keep bad company
A dream you've cradled all your life
Magnified in black & white
Heaven hell or in between
It might cost you everything
Chorus-
Only putting on a show...
Only putting on a show...
