THE BELIEVER

Story Behind The Song

The inspiration to write The Believer came after I was asked a specific question for the online music publication, Medium by Authority Magazine and interviewer Elana Cohen. The question stated: "You are a person of enormous influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most about of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger". My answer was "I've always been a big believer in the power of prayer. So, my inspiring movement would be to ask every person to say a silent prayer for someone each day that might need a little extra love, encouragement, help or support". I realized in that moment that this just might be a great idea for a song, so I found my "great ideas" notepad and jotted the idea down. A year later I felt the pull to write it and a year after that, to record it and release it as a single. I don't question the divine timing in all things, especially the timing in when a song is meant to be born and when it's time to release it into the world. I follow the promptings and guidance of my heart and now is the time to deliver this particular message which in many ways makes sense with everything that's happening in the world.

Song Description

"The Believer" is an incredibly beautiful and heartfelt song that Amanda felt deeply inspired to release in hopes that the songs message would bring about a powerful movement in the world. Her enchanting delivery and poignant vocals elevate the song, offering listeners a deeply moving experience as she calls her audience to prayer. The inspiration to write The Believer came from after an experience Amanda had answering a question posed during an online magazine interview where she was asked the very question posed in the first verse of the song. The answer is delivered in the chorus and as Amanda is known for her introspective artistry and a creative process that is guided by heartfelt inspiration, the message of the song is not only heard but profoundly felt. For Amanda, the thought of seeing a movement of love through prayer coming to life through her music and this song, is so powerful and speaks to the kind of artist Amanda is. An artist moved by the hands of spirit, called in service to the world.

Lyrics

The Believer - Amanda Hagel
Verse 1 -
I took some time, to contemplate
When asked a certain question
one that really made me think
Could you inspire, a way to bring,
the most amount of goodness
to the most amount of folks today
The minute I got quiet
In an instant the answer came

Chorus -
As you go about your day, pause for just a moment
Think of someone you know
that needs some love sent their way
It might seem much too simple, somehow, I know it's true
The way we're all connected, there's no space between me and you
In your own way, take time today, and pray

Verse 2 -
In a car, or on a plane
In a line to pay for groceries
The place inside remains the same
It doesn't matter where you are
Let your heart speak their name

(repeat chorus)
Bridge -
The Believer in me
Knows the power of what love, can do

(repeat chorus)

As you go about your day, would you, pause for just one moment
And think of someone you know
that needs some love sent their way
ohhh It might seem much too simple, somehow, I know it's true
The way we're all connected, there's no space between me and you
In your own way, slow down, and take time today
And pray, ohhh pray
