You know, it isn't enough to write lyrics and hope they say something someone wants to record. It takes a top notch producer, engineer, and musicians to make it all come together. I feel pretty lucky to have Nashville's best kept secret on my team, Denny Martin of Denny Martin Music. He has some of the best talent for session players, a great selection of vocal talent, and best of all, he is an incredible person to work with. Thank you, Denny, for all you've done for me and for our new upcoming projects! John Braheny, continues to mentor me. John's incredible talent and experience in lyric writing (he should know- he mentored Diane Warren!) has my undying respect. Last but not least, my dear friend Mandi Martin (not related to Denny) who is also a producer in Los Angeles, encourages me almost every day. I continue to listen to and apply the advise of my 'team' and I owe my success to all of them! So on that note, I'm off to write more lyrics!

Find The Time
Sharing a common thread with Mary Chappin Carpenter and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, I spend my days working at the Pentagon, where one can't hurry fast enough. Although Mary no longer works for the government, I used to see Jeff roaming the halls every once in awhile.
It was on 9-11 that I was face-to-face with the realization of how quickly life can be over. After recuperating from the trauma of the events and loss of many friends that day, I knew I had a lot of unfinished business to take care of and make a difference in this world before I leave it. Now it seems that as I spend my nights trying to get as many of my thoughts set to music as possible, the ideas come so fast I can barely get them all down! After they're produced, then all the marketing efforts begin! For someone looking into my life, I'm sure they'd wonder how I find the time to accomplish so much with only 24 hours in a day!
As a prolific writer, I consider myself very lucky to have my music receiving air time on various radio stations across the US and playing in public establishments in Washington DC, where I have personally seen a Senator or two tapping their feet to the beat, which at least makes me feel good that even politics has its moment of silence!
One of my songs, "Lies Are Lies," has been selected as a soundtrack for the movie: 'American 911 and The Seven Legends,' soon to be released. Needless to say, I'm excited and can't wait to see the movie!
I hope my legacy will be not only the music I've written but also my paintings, which I still manage to produce every year. Ah, the arts! There isn't anything that soothes the soul more than being creative!
Don't lose the enjoyment of that creativity!
