Shareefah C. Abdullah is a composer, arranger, producer whose debut CD On A Musical Journey features Hip Contemporary Jazz, Latin Jazz and New Age-Funk fusions. Her music has been described as pure, sweet and smooth. She enjoys combining those elements with funky, jazzy rhythms.
Shareefah studied Jazz piano with talented Lucille Gaita, who is featured on the album, and at Jazzmobile in Harlem, NY.. Not only does she love composing but enjoys the production process as well, especially working with her son, studio engineer, Salaam Shabazz of Eargasm Productions. I just joined the myGoodDeed.org initiative which urges participants to honor the 911 victims by doing charitable deeds for persons and/or organizations of our choice. Although we are asked to participate annually during the week of Sept. 11th, I have decided to extend
that time period this year to three months and donate a portion of the proceeds generated by my new release,
Celestial Choir. This beautiful, ethereal piece is available by download only at Broadjam. As you know, two of the worst tragedies in this country during the last decade were the 911 attacks and the devastation of Katrina's aftermath. The charity I've selected is Oprah's Katrina Homes
