Rubycone's Bio
In 2005, having tried playing in several alternative bands Stas Starush came up to the idea of his own band. A band which was supposed to combine odd rythmics with a clear melody (or maybe he just needed several guys to play several songs :D). There were 4 songs, oriented to clean vocals. After the first several rehearsals the band started to change quickly. Some members left to come back, others came to leave soon. It took almost three years of alternating between male vocals, female vocals, one guitar, two guitars, different tunings so that the band got its new shape, new songs (instrumental compositions, whatever ), new members and finally got its name.
Rubycone are *Roma "Romones" (guitar) *Nicu "GenX"(drums) *Stas "VStas"(bass) *Stas "Norfeus"(guitar). Troubles with vocals raised the idea of changing the guitar lines so that they should also perform some functions of vocals, and music became more complex and more abstract. First four songs were changed, new stuff in a new style was written and then guys had their first gig in Odessa on 16 February 2008. Within 7 months Rubycone played in Chisinau (twice supported Russian bands and held several local split concerts) and participated on a fest in Ukraine.
In august due to the circumstances (or may be some kind of divine force, who knows) the money met the Rubycone and in some time they made an album together. The album linked the songs together under the idea of a sequence of pictures, designed to melt any susceptible my-life-became-better-after-I-bought-a-new-fridge housewife in each of us. Now, while the guys are struggling with the housewives in their own minds, the wheel of time makes its turn and soon we'll find out what's next on the TV of life: would the Rubycone become the most famous band ever? Do Yeti exist? and How to make a table using a pencil and a potato? Stay in touch...
