Bio

Smooth Jazz or Pop singer/songwriters sometimes draw too heavily on the music of others they
admire. They then are compared to these artists, or it is said that they are a “cross” or “combination” of
these artist's styles and sounds. While you may hear echoes of Laura Nyro, Carole King, Sade and
Marvin Gaye, there can be no mistake that Robin Avery’s music and voice are all her own.
In 2000, Ms. Avery released her first full length, original CD, AURORA. an album of
romantic, sexy smooth jazz whose lyrics speak of meaning and significance. The12 song CD combines
strong vocals and smooth jazz stylings to create a musical tapestry of the thoughts and emotions that color
her life. She received national airplay and has performed throughout South Florida.
In collaboration with keyboardist/composer and producer, Paul Banman, Robin is getting ready
to release her second CD, The Way You Hold Me. Robin offers her fusion of smooth jazz and
R&B/Pop, with lyrical reflections on life and love. Her songs cover the joys and pangs of men and
women who are trying to connect, separate, or find their own meanings. The featured song, The Calm
In My Storm, is a romantic ballad that explores the difficulty of leaving a comfortable relationship to be
true to oneself.
Kiss Me In The Rain is a warm, melodic call to live fully and spontaneously and to treasure
laughter and love in each moment.
