Taking influences from all over the metal world, Ninth Degree started back in the winter of 2002. Matt, Milo, and Sal started out by just jamming out some covers in Sal's garage. Finally, the band was complete in late 2002 with the induction of Tom as lead singer. The band then set out to make the type of music they love...metal. With influences such as Down, Pantera, Black Label Society, Corrosion of Conformity, Metallica, Dream Theater and Rage Against the Machine the band started writing some songs. "Cast a Stone" and "Sunblind" are two of the band's first songs and were written when most of the band was still only 16 years old.
