Margot is the recipient of the first annual Young Artist Award of the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. She has won the award for her song, Serendipity, the first release from her second CD due out this fall.
At the age of 12, Margot released her debut album, Rising, produced by John Jennings, the producer-guitarist best known for his Grammy Award winning work with Mary Chapin Carpenter. It went on to garner MASC honors as well as two Wammie nominations for Best Vocalist and Song of the Year.
Margot's CD Release Concert featured notable musicians Jon Carroll, John Jennings, J.T. Brown, Robbie Magruder and Lisa Reagan. Margot has also performed in productions featuring David Foster, Josh Groban, Nita Whitaker, Lionel Richie, Cher, Dennis DeYoung, The Corrs, Chuck Berry, Marc Anthony, Brian McKnight, Jessica Simpson, Judy Collins, Chic, and Placido Domingo, .
Margot currently plays out in the Washington DC area both solo and with a band (33 West). She continues to hone her craft as a songwriter, composer and performer while a music major at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Margot is finishing up her new CD, Torn, produced by Marco Delmar with all music and lyrics by Margot.
DC Rockers for Life 2007 has invited Margot to join Ground Control's campaign for drunk driving awareness. And Margot is gearing up for her own CD release. Look out for many upcoming shows!
