A Canadian guitarist and songwriter based in Toronto, Luke Sneyd’s album All of Us Cities has just been released independently. Recorded with producer Marc Koecher, the record’s existential pop is epic and immediate, carried by soaring melodies and sharp lyrics. The two musicians first combined forces when Koecher composed a soundtrack for a short film Sneyd wrote. That cinematic sensibility carried over to the album, a richly varied, layered and energetic debut. From the opening rush of power pop anthem “Waiting” to the dark introspection of “Unknown”, All of Us Cities carries the listener through streets of hustle and longing.
Sneyd is featured in an upcoming issue of No Cover magazine, and “Waiting” will appear on the Groupies Suck Vol. 10 compilation, being distributed throughout North America. Previously a member of electro-rock combos Mountain Mama and Rockstasy, Sneyd played over southern Ontario, and appeared in Canadian Music Week, releasing the EP Grand Theft Audio in 2002
