Less is More
LessR began as a few high school guys jamming in a garage and then winning the school's talent show. Every weekend for the past 6 years, if the guys didn't have a gig they would practice to perfect their hard rock / metal sound. Members include, Tony Schumacher lead vocalist, Jake Rigg guitar, Stephen Green bass, Luke Rausch guitar / back up vocals and Chris Brokamp drums / back up vocals. The band started playing together in the fall of 2001, they learned songs by bands like Metallica, Godsmack, and Nickelback. For the next couple of years they continued to learn cover songs, but more importantly, writing songs. Influenced by bands like Disturbed, Metallica, Sevendust, Mudvayne, and Breaking Benjamin. Their first eight song demo CD was recorded at Sweetwater Productions in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as well as their second six song demo. They have a very faithful following, for the Club Bijou Battle of the Bands, in Toledo, LessR sold 250 tickets, which was more than any other band. LessR came in second by only two points. Since then they have won three other battles and play out almost every weekend. LessR has played a wide variety of venues in the past 5 years. They have played in everything from small local bars to national venues like Headliner's in Toledo. The small bar gigs are good for bringing in some cash. LessR really enjoys the big stage, and opening for bands like, Flaw, Soil, Egypt Central, Skid Row, Bobaflex and Seven Mary Three. They hope to be headlining their own big shows soon. There is nothing that these guys would rather do with their lives than play music. Their dream is to be signed to a major record label and play their music for a living. With the support of their many dedicated fans, they have no doubt that their dreams will be realized. Rock on! See you at the show!
