For the last 20 years, I have worked as an Audio Engineer and Producer for a wide variety of
Musical Acts and Corporations. So in that regard, I have always been involved in the industry.
My true passion however is songwriting, which I never feel I have enough time for.
I play Guitar as my primary instrument. I also dabble on Bass and Keyboards.
I’m also a fairly capable singer as well as a percussionist.
At the end of 2001, I started to record a few of the hundreds of songs I have written.
Technology had gotten to the point of affordability, making recording a reality, so
I started a small project studio.
I recorded about 50 rough demos until I decided I was comfortable enough to try
and record a more professional product.
That effort resulted in my first official release titled, “Out There”.
I am currently working on my second album, which I expect to release by the end of 2007.

Fans of Peter Gabriel, Dave Matthews, Tears For Fears, or James Taylor may find a new friend in Kevin Campbell.
This multi-faceted composer from New Jersey, definitely
falls between the cracks, when trying to define his music.
Working from 2 small home project studios, Kevin
originally recorded these songs with just acoustic guitar
and drums. With that in mind, you would expect to be able
to categorize this CD fairly easily.
But that is not the case........
This CD starts out with the horn-heavy, "DayBreakFadeAway",
and concludes with the solo trumpet of "Early Train". Two very different songs portraying 2 very different paths.
Along the way the listener encounters the honky-tonk feel of "Every Little Morning", with its upright piano/acoustic
guitar bounce. The triple-tracked acoustic guitars in the title track, "Out There". The harmonica and keyboard heavy, "Above The Breeze".
But on the albums fifth track, "Surround" we most
likely see the true depth of Campbell's writing.
Starting off with an infectious percussive intro,
the song evolves into a prayer-like chorus, which
really does surround the listener. “It’s one of the most
complete songs that I think I’ve ever written”, says Kevin. "It was also really fun to record. I just kept
adding voices and and layers of sounds to the mix. It never ceases to amuse me, that the original guide track was just an acoustic guitar and a click track!"
"Hum" is an up-tempo street-funk tune featuring synths
and electric piano and bass.
FineLine features multi-keyboard layers and INXS type electric guitar
“The Cuddle” is a Beatles meet Peter Gabriel concoction
with xylophone and kalimba.
"Against The Wall" offers Electric Guitar, Organ, and Bass featuring the only electric guitar solo on the record.
