A tiny package with the power of Streisand, the sweetness of Alison Krauss and the delivery of Billie Holiday rolled into one, Helene Kates has an extraordinary voice that world-renowned performer Neshama Carlebach described as “moving and unforgettable… a unique and holy light to the world.” Capturing the hearts of audiences since age 12, her credits include being a featured performer with the American Youth Repertory on Broadway, vocal soloist with the South Shore Big Band at Carnegie Hall, and independent film, commercial and voice-over work.

In 2004 with The Baal Shem Tones, she released her debut CD "All Our Lives" to worldwide critical acclaim. Her rousing “Oseh Shalom” has been selected as part of the international project "Voices for Israel: Keeping the Faith," expected to release in 2007.

Helene and her producer/collaborator/husband Michael now split their time between touring and writing new material for their next CD release.
