Urban pop empowerment singer-songwriter Elishema was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Music runs through her veins and has always been a main focus of her life. Throughout her childhood writing songs, playing instruments, and performing was prevalent. During high school, she hooked up with managers and music producers and was a part of several girl groups, but after many trials and tribulations eventually found her calling as a solo artist. She strives to make a positive difference through her uplifting and inspiring music which she coins "Music for Empowerment." In 2008 Elishema released her first single called "Get Loose" under the independent label Inway Records which she co-founded with her manager Larry Mannie. And in 2009 she released her second urban pop single "Sophisticated Man" as a prelude to her long anticipated debut album "New Beginnings" which is set to be released late Fall.
