It’s not every day that a sixteen-year-old girl fits all her material possessions into a beat up Mazda Protégé and drives to Miami, leaving her friends, family, school and work to pursue a dream. Now, two years later, Dominique Vouk has released a full-length Debut album of radio quality, original songs, produced by Gary Bosko, with four songs mixed by Grammy Award winning sound engineer Eric Schilling. The 80’s retro synth stylings were creations of Doug Emery (Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Jon Secada, Barbra Streisand) and with the pulsing, primal guitar work of Dan Warner (Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Britney Spears) audiences are compelled to move and believe.
On top of it all, Dominique Vouk has a heart of gold and a passion for humanity. Track four on her CD, ‘Perfect As We Are’ is an anthem that she wrote to inspire people to be confident with who they are and what they look like, imperfections and all.
Dominique Vouk: Biography
Dominique Vouk taught herself how to play piano by ear when she was just eight years old. Shortly after, she wrote her very first song entitled "What's The World Coming to?" which expressed her frustration and feelings of hopelessness about the dark direction she saw the world going in.
At sixteen, with more than fifty original songs memorized in her head, Dominique packed her bags, took a risk and moved from Winnipeg, Canada, to Florida, to pursue a career as a Recording Artist and songwriter. Her family was in 100% support of her the whole time. Now, two years later, she is revealing herself to you.
She places her hopes and fears, her dreams and her diary pages at your feet. Dominique's first original album is a liberating and startling glance at life through the eyes of a precocious young woman.
After getting signed to independent record label PIVOT Records, producer Gary Bosko introduced Dominique to two top-notch studio musicians in the business, Doug Emery and Dan Warner. Doug, who has played on Barbara Streisand, Kelly Clarkson, Jon Secada and Clay Aiken records, gave Dominique's CD a unique and tasteful blend of retro 80's synth styling's and with the primal, pulsing guitar work of Dan Warner (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion) audiences are compelled to move and believe.
Dominique laces her songs with persuasive pop-'sing-a-long' melodies and lyrics that remind us of the power in vulnerability. The result is a meld of songs with a pulse on life; that cuts through the senses and reaches the heart of the matter.
"With my new CD, I urge you to believe in yourself and make your dreams come true. Embrace every inch of your body, and every ounce of love in your heart. Look in the mirror every morning and say "I am intelligent, beautiful, inspiring, confident, compassionate and powerful and I can do anything.
So many people in this world keep thinking that there's something wrong with them and they need to change or fix themselves, but the truth is, if you look deep enough within yourself, you will realize that everything you ever needed was there all along."
