I am an indie singer-songwriter dealing with a wide range of topics. My music is in the folk, roots, Americana realm. Primary influences include John Prine, Dave Mallett, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, John McCutcheon, and others.  I typically produce my songs in my home studio, a truly one-stop, one-shop operation. I write the songs, arrange them, do all the instrumentation (acoustic guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, tenor banjo) , vocals, samples, loops, recording, mixing, mastering. I am who I am. What you hear, is what you get. I really have no idea who I sound like, but I can imagine being in the same song list as some of my influencers without feeling too out of place.

Over the years I have scored some of my songs in parts for a folk-contemporary choir, but these days my scoring is limited to the occasional lead sheet if a situation calls for it.

Sounds Like: David Mallett, Guy Clark

Getting into music production late in life, so It is a challenge to arrange, record, mix, master a large number of songs ( a hundred or so) that I have composed over many years. I am working on it so long the voice holds out and I remain on the suitable side of the grass! I am continuing to complete tracks and get them out there for potential placement ... mostly via Broadjam.  No success yet, but I keep on keeping on!

Hi D Carl, Thanks so much for the kind and thoughtful review of "frostbite heart". I agree with much of what you said in the review including that it would work better as a pop song. In the last few days I put two versions of it on Broadjam.
I would love to hear your input on those if you get a chance to listen to them I don't know how to link it but just click on my name and you will see them. Hope you can check those out I think you may like them better. Different producer but same vocalist.

Kate, Having looked at your bio and all your successes, it seems presumptuous of me to advise you on what does or does not work, or how to get a thought across in a song. Wishing you success with this song.
