About Me
Darcus Glory "DG" is an artist filled with diversity and an
extisinsive history in music and life, so how do you catalog an overwhelming talent like this.
The name Darcus Glory is not a typical rap name, but a name with a strong meaning. Destiny is A Reality of Commitment, Understanding, and Sacrifice, while Grabbing Life's Opportunity to Redeem Yourself. DG's story exemplifies the overall meaning of sacrifice.
Mastering his craft in St. Louis Mo, DG decided to take his life's experience further south to Atlanta Georgia where he could keep his music first, and the struggles of home at an arms length. While in Atlanta he gained new experiences, new stories, and a broader perspective on life and the music industry. It would be unfair to bottle up a talent, delivery, and point of view in the region where it was created and not share it with the world. In a city like St. Louis where crime and poverty overshadows the inner city and surrounding communities it is only natural that a voice of hope would emerge out of the rain.
Darcus Glory commonly referred to as "DG", born the younger of twin sons, learned how to express his personal vision and strive for independence. Molded and battle tested in the waters of the mighty Mississippi River where you either "sink or swim". DG learned his stroke and dove head first into the music industry with one thought on his mind; share his unique story with the world!
Now DG has moved to Atlanta to regroup and refocus. Leaving everything behind except his talent, his knack for story telling, smooth delivery, and experience, he has continued on his mission to let the world hear his story. With a consistent body of studio work, and producers from across the country DG has a sound which is guaranteed to be unique and different from song to song. Poised would be an understatement for the character of this project.
The key to success for any artist is hard work and perseverance and DG is the epitome of both. The long awaited and anticipated debut project is here. Featuring the hit single "Why Wouldn't We" that spear headed the 2010 youth summer fitness camp in conjunction with the Glory Group and TC Henderson Properties. Also included on the album the smash hits
"Sho iz", "Brother to Brother" and the thought provoking "Do You Believe"
Darcus Glory emerges to give us a feel good neighborhood journey that will not always end with the common results (death or prison) that we have come to expect from our music. This movement and project will go down as a classic for current DG fans and serve as a breath of fresh air for the millions who haven't seen the Glory. With the moniker on his back 1 love 1 life, DG truly has truly captured the essence of the urban struggles that so many embrace every day. So allow his soulful voice, thought provoking messages, movie like stories, and songs laced with the hope of the hopeless reopen the platform of music and honest living which has been lost and longed for.
