Dale Gillespie Band performs originals and cover tunes at various music festivals, clubs and private parties throughout south central Alaska. The current line up includes Dale Gillespie on electric guitar and harmonica, his wife, Sherry Holm, on bass guitar and Tim Trawver on drums. Dale Gillespie, Alaskan Bluesman
Dale Gillespie was born in Seward, Alaska on February 9,1954. As a child he had an interest in music but did not begin playing music until age 15 when he bought his first Harmony archtop guitar. He began playing piano and keyboards in the late seventies. By 1980 he was performing around the local area as a keyboard player in various bands. By 1985 Dale was performing with "The Pacesetters" five nights a week at a local club. In 1991 he moved to Anchorage and started his all original band, "Ducks In Thunder". They performed at local coffee shops and music festivals throughout south central Alaska until 2000. In the meantime Dale picked up the guitar again and start a solo act with a drum machine performing at the "Night of Lights Millennium Celebration" at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts on December 31,1999. After which the building was evacuated due to a bomb threat. (true) Dale teamed up with his wife, Sherry on bass guitar and other local musicians to form Dale Gillespie Band 2006 and continues to perform original and cover music at clubs and music festivals around Alaska.
