Cristian Faur - Bio

I was born on 11 October 1971 in Ineu, Romania. I made my first steps there, I learned my first words, I went to school, high school and I graduated the "Mihai Viteazul" College in 1990. I start studying the guitar since I was twelve, but moving forward to piano was a big challenge for me. So, in a few years, my parents made a big sacrifice and bought me a "Karl Hamburger" Grand Piano and from that moment my entire music horizon changed. I was happy for every note I wrote down into small compositions, and not happy because my neighbors were complaining every day to my parents about me, repeating the same notes over and over again. Powered by ambition and future plans I start studying canto and piano lessons at "Popular School of Arts" and results came faster than I expected. In 1992 I went to my first big pop music festival in Onesti, where I won "The trophy of the festival". This prize was followed by other performances, as award winning composer and artist at "Mamaia Music Festival", the biggest festival of romanian music industry. I recorded my first album in 1994 and since then I wrote and produced almost two hundred songs for the most famous romanian artists. Because of my dream, I chose three years of study at "Music for the media" in London, instead of "Music Academy" in Bucharest, where I achieved a Film Scoring Diploma. My first song with a cinematic touch was "Epilog" and later that year I wrote a theme for big orchestra which I converted into a modern dance song "Don't be afraid" to participate at the national selection for Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Song positioned to 2nd place and we couldn't represent Romania to Eurovision that year, but life is full of surprises and what doesn't kills you makes you stronger. So I charged all my batteries and I wrote a good song for the national selection to Eurovision 2005. I chose a good voice, the right team and we succeeded. The final result was a big record for Romania: First Award Winning Song at Eurovision Song Contest.
