Thanks John I have 5 newly recorded tunes on the website, none released as albums though , mainly for sync tv and films. If you have time check out, Rhinohorn (enviromental callbecoming responsible in my old age, Samarai , a comment on the demise of Amy Winehouse, Baby a cute little r n b ditty about cheeky cooking,Some Things acoustic guitar lovesong, and Ver-Ti-Go a funk track reminiscent of Prince or Jamiroquai .these are the latest bunch . I enjoy bossa nova and "Broken" is wonderful. That chord progression on "I don't want to know your secrets..." just grabs me. "Send Back My Heart" is terrific, syrupy blues. I like the fact you're a melody girl. There's so much emphasis on lyrics that I wonder if melody takes a back seat. It's the melody that catches me first!
Thanks for your feedback John, its a bit of one sometimes another with the lyric vs melody with these songs so glad you enjoyed will pay attention to that a bit more.
Hey, Suzy. Can't go wrong with Gerry Beckley, Mamas & Papas, Seals & Crofts. Carpenters, David Gates, and CSNY, too. During a time when punk and heavy metal were in, I was a closet admirer of those very melodic groups. I'm delighted that you enjoyed "Stay Here Now." Thank you for taking time to listen! You have some interesting ideas. I'll have to make some new files...try bringing out more guitar, scaling back the piano, too hear how that sounds! Experimenting has always been a fun thing. My "Gerry Beckley" is Clay Collins and he does an amazing job. You're the first one to take a good guess and notice the middle eighth where I actually have different notes. Clay did a variation which worked nicely with his range and harmonies. I love that bossa nova sound on "Broken," and your soul and funk on "Send Back My Heart." I'll try to listen to the rest as it's hard to really get a really good feel for the songwriting from just a few songs. John
