FYI - RAIN has been in the top 10 on Broadjam on and off for a while now. I think your scores were rather low in contrast to all the others I've received. I do appreciate your honesty, and thanks for your advice.

Thank you for the positive review of rain! You are the second person to point out the writings on the wall lyric not fitting. I will have to consider other options for that...

Thanks for the positive review; all pop lyrics are cliche... I try not to be, but writings on the wall.. yeah I get it... ; )

Haha...well, ya, I guess to a large degree that's pop for you... but you did break away from it really nicely at a couple of point......and at the same time pop is not necessarily cliche. I'm thinking of 'The Trouble With Love" (which I love yet can exemplify well done cliche) and The Police ...Stings lyrics are most often used as examples of excellence in song writing courses, lectures, etc.....so, I'd say, go with what ya got and enjoy it and always have the best fun possible :D

Yeah I like Sting - he is the man for sure! I have never really been that great at lyrics... but I keep working on it. I have been working on engineering, mixing, and getting a great sound/groove. I wrote the lyrics for this song at least 5 times... you should have seen the first version... ; )

I know what you mean about lyrics. Some, they come to you like BAM, they're just there...other times it's pure agony. Sting reads a lot of poetry and I believe Keats is one of his favorites. Speaking of lyrics, it's time for me to get into a writing group again....it really helps, and I don't mean the namby pamby kind where every one says, 'that was good', but the kind with real constructive critism. Not only does it help but being in a group gets your creative juices flowing big time and suddenly words , poetry, lyrics, stories come flying out of you.

Good for you on the engineering/mixing stuff....I only go as far as being a garage band hack :D

Thank you for the very positive review of all comes down to love! You marked my lyrics as a 3, all my other reviews of this song had 4 or 5 on the lyrics. Could you please elaborate on why you rated them so low? Looking for ways to improve... :)

Hi Rick,
The reason for that was the continuous sense one line makes after the other. I feel like the diction gets broken somehow. Please check the transition from verse to the hook.

Maybe it's just me. So, it could be the case of being a lyricist myself. I tend to like the last line in the verse connecting well with the first one in the hook.

Since you didn't do this song for me, don't worry a thing! Good luck!

I like that idea, setting up the chorus better with the last line in the verse. Sort of like the last line of the chorus being the hook... thanks; I will keep that in mind.

I think I do that better in the first verse, but yeah the second verse does not setup the chorus as well.

Take care and thanks for the feedback!

Thank you Rick for your kind comments regards my song Phone Geek! I think your song When you believed needs some harmonies in the chorus but other than that it's a nice song! Breathe sounds very Vertical Horizon to me and is my favorite track of yours, I would still like to hear some harmonies though!
Kind Regards

I just listened to "phone geek" - very cool! Rather than thinking of this as seventies era - think 2010 NOW sounding... this is like Apple iPad commercial cool!
