Hi Mr. John Walradt. Thank you for listening to my most recent uploaded song "I PLAY". Your time is always very appreciated, and thank you for the generous rating. Like many of my songs, that were conceived in the last 2 decades, I am on a roll so to speak and hope to have more of them completed and on line in the near future, along with a mix of new creations. I wish you the best of success in your musical creations and other pursuits. your friend always! Pete Hansen
Hi, Pete Ben-jamin! You're very much welcome! The concept and content of "Play" follows your quest to write meaningful songs to inspire healing and harmonize the earth. That's a wonderful life's work. I'd like to see a much bigger place for the work you do; that is, a larger audience to not only listen and feel the songs you write, but for something to think about and inspire to act on. Right now my wife, Lora, and I are in process of selling our condominium (or condo-minimum, as I call it...heh, heh) located within too much activity, then to move to a town near Redlands, California, which should be much more peaceful and less repressive. More later, my friend. John Walradt
Hi again John. Thanks for your insight and the professional advice/direction. I'm going to look for such a place as a platform with a much larger audience. Right now, besides the broadjam community I am a VIPer member of a community called Home Studio Corner run by Joe Gilder. I am taking courses in recording, mixing and mastering to improve those areas in my musical efforts. I hope you and your wife find a peaceful place to live. Phoenix is quite busy and large. My wife, Redonna, our puppy Cheyenne and I moved from Tucson to Jefferson Georgia in 2018 for a much needed escape with the hope of finding a peaceful retreat. It was perfect and the best 2 year vacation from a long list of family deaths and sadness. After 2 years we moved back, but to Marana instead, not by choice but by accident, plus I had a lot of clients wanting me and us back. Even though my very large family has been in Tucson since 1912, we are always looking for a better location, or locations while traveling the country. Being on the move seems to suit us as there's always new places to see and experience. I know you both will find the perfect place just waiting for you to show up. Thanks again!!! Pete
Hi Mrs. Diane Radius. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my song Key 2 Trilogy, and thank you for the very generous rating. I listened to the first song on your list Sweet Heather. I could tell by the depth, simplicity and flow of your creation you have been composing and honing your skills for a long time. Very well done!!! I wish you all the best success as you move forward. Regards Pete
Well thank you for those kind words and yes been doing this music thing for -- gosh -- too many years to count now ha ha ... But I had a chance to listen to your gorgeous tune, I'm always amazed at how absolutely unique each artist is and how much creative thought goes into each project. Key 2 Trilogy was lovely to listen to, wow, top top quality stuff! Wishin' you all the best too, here on BJ and elsewhere! Cheers! - Diane
Hi Mr. Paul Daren. Thank you for listening to my song "Key 2 Trilogy". Just taking the time to listen is very appreciated and your generous rating is a huge bonus for sure. I listened to one of your songs "In The Light Of The Moon". Your music arrangement is over the top beautiful! The flow is raw and natural sounding which is more rare in these days of AI technology. I wish you the best success in your musical journey. By the way, My family on my dads side is straight from Denmark, which I am proud of. May I say howdy neighbor. Thanks again Pete Hansen
Many many thanks, Pete! I enjoyed listening to your music, too. I'm actually an Englishman living with my German wife and family here in southeast Bavaria near the Austrian border. I've been here for nearly half my life though and still love it down here. Best wishes, Pete and good luck with your songs. I will listen in again soon. Many thanks, Paul
Good morning and Happy New Year Mrs. Jeana Marie Potthoff. Thank you for listening to my songs "A DREAM OF YOU" and "EVEN MORE". Just taking the time to listen to them is very appreciated and your generous rating is a huge bonus! I listened to two of your songs in the New Age top 10 recently and both are very well crafted with much depth and easily earned a 5 star plus rating. May I say, respectfully, your piercing blue eyes are a big draw. Good luck with all your musical creations!!! Pete
Hi Pete--Thanks for listening and your ratings. I look forward to hearing more of your music. You have a great sound!
Pete, I appreciate your continued offering of stars! I hope you realize I truly value other musicians opinions and when expressed I take notice. Thanks again! - Kevin
A song that we enjoy doesn't happen by accident. There are many years of work and passion that lead up to that creation, as well as all other bodies of work. That is just a small part of my deeper understanding and appreciation of a song as a life long musician. If I take the time to listen and select a star, I might as well select all of them. On the surface, I would give your songs 5 stars any way because what I've heard is very professional and the emotion comes through. We all could use encouragement. Besides, a 5 star rating of a song in a hard earned top 10 chart helps create a buzz and more attention and then who knows what. We might as well get what we can out of being in a top 10 category, have fun with it while it's there and help others along the way. Regards and Happy Holidays!!! Pete
Hi again Mr. John Walradt. Thank you for listening to my song "This Version Of Me" and thank for the stars. I'm working hard to complete a long list of overdue creations. I look forward to listening to your creations. Happy 2023 Holidays!!! Pete
You're much welcome, Pete. I have several songs to complete as well and I'm working on one about global warming called "If the World Ends" and giving it a Roxy Music treatment as in their song, "Avalon." I also did some fingerpicking guitar and just found out it just doesn't mesh. Back to the drawing board! You really come up with beautifully layered compositions and a flair for pleasing melodies that have not so common chord progressions. That's a great thing to have! You also have thought provoking lyrics. Of my songs, my favorites are "Stay Here Now," "Far From Home," and "Raindrop Soul" which I consider my most beautiful song. A lot of people like "We Didn't Have Time Enough." If you have some you'd like me to listen to first, give me a list. I'll be happy to do that! Happy 2023 winter holidays to you as well! John
Thank you Mr. John Walradt for your words, comments, your music and your support. I will listen to those creations you suggested first. Thanks again! Pete
Thanks for the stars Pete! I always appreciate when people take time to listen. Your name "Ben'Jamin" is genius by the way.
Hi Mr. Kevin Winkel. The time I take to hear someone bare their heart and soul through their songs and music is always well spent. The healing effect is something many people don't realize but it is indeed healing!!! Love your music Pete. PS. May I add you to my friends list?
Absolutely . . .
Thank you!
Pete, thank you for dropping by my page and for your enjoyment of "Just Another Weekend." I listened to a few of yours. You have beautiful melodies with unexpected chord progressions that are wonderful to listen to. "A Dream of You" is wistful and "Float" is peaceful. It's a welcome thing to come upon your songs amid the chaos that's out there these days. John
Hi Mr. John Walradt. Thank you for taking the time to listen to some of my music and thank you for the kind comments. There certainly is a lot of chaos out there. I follow a simple method for side stepping it all. "engaged detachment". I am fully aware of the chaos but I manage to disconnect from it and stay in my peaceful "still point" where I am able to focus on music and the things that are most important to me, my wife and puppy. PS. Love your music. May I add to you to my friends list? Pete Hansen
The rest of the world gets on hold when I sink into my music or paintings, and being with my wife and our kitty. I'd be glad to be on your list! John
Dear Helle Hansen. I love your song "For Good". If you don't mind I would like to connect and follow your career. And after all, my last name in Hansen and our families here in Tucson and across the USA have a lot of family in Denmark, known and mostly unknown. I have been a member of Broadjam for some time. Eventually I'll start uploading more songs to my profile. Bur for now, Thank you for the inspiring and brilliant song I just heard. Always!!! Pete Hansen
I love your 'Key 2 Trilogy',what a beautiful song and guitar playing and arrangement, nice melody, much success,Emmett North Jr.
Dear Mr. Emmett North Jr.. Thank you for your comment on our song Key To Trilogy. It seems these days many songs that are created by passionate artists go unheard or unnoticed. But it's all good. We do what we do because we have to because we want to. I am impressed with your history in the music world. In my humble but accurate opinion our music and all other good music is the saving grace of the world. Your friend always! Pete Hansen
hi Pete, hell man, i didn't know they'd post my ridiculous comment (in retrospect--it's just the reverb i think now for sure, i only listen once) but this is a great piece of work. all the best, Warren
Pete, Thank you for the review of Autumn Afternoo, from my Castle of Dreams Acoustic Solo Piano CD. As a self taught musician I have always enjoyed playing the piano from the point of creating my own music. Thanks again
Greetings Pete- Thank you for your kind review. To answer your question, those were all samples (not a synthesizer). All of them act as plug-ins in my recording application, pro-tools. I use a dual quad Pc, (not mac) with 24 gigs of ram. pro-tools is my studio platform for arranging and recording. I do all the arranging in pro-tools, which will produce a score from a midi arrangement, or a midi arrangement from a score. I use the symphonic cube (sample library) on a mac and it is dedicated only to running the cube. It is clocked when recording to my other machine for recording, and mixing with other sample libraries. I also use East/West products and I am a huge fan of "Play" ( their sample engine which acts as a plug-in). "Chris Heins Horns" is great too. Sonokinetic and several others. But in some composition productions I use hybrid recording. This is a mix of Live instruments and samples. I frequently use college students as it is more expensive to hire card carrying union members for session recording. My song "TEARS" is such an example. Here are a few links to check out sample libraries that will fit any budget: http://www.soundsonline.com/ 1 http://www.vsl.co.at/en/65/71/84/1349.vsl 2 http://www.bestservice.de/ 3 http://www.sonokinetic.net/ 4 Be forewarned that some of them have heavy systems requirements. If you are using a keyboard workstation, I encourage you to change that and evolve. There are a myriad of great products out there and they totally surpass anything a Korg Oasis could do(best all in one keyboard I know of). At this point the only thing Korgs totally kick ass for are midi interface keyboards. Their weighted keyboards still have great action. (I use a Triton Pro-x as my main controller). However sample based audio is higher quality, cheaper, more accessible and the current industry standard. Hope this helps. please feal free to shoot me a line if you have qurstions. -Benjamin
Dear Mr. Benjamin Stone, Thank you for your very generous & perfect score of our song "Soul Low Solo 2 Guitars". My brother John Hansen is the composer, and a master at playing classical guitar. He created and has maintened his own direction & style of playing from day one with a desire for deep meaning & excellence in his musical expression. We created our own genre & call it "Classical Mood". I have the pleasure and challange of adding other instruments, recording, mixing & mastering the songs. I look forward to listening to your creations, & by the number of songs & plays alone, they must be impressive. Respectfully Pete Benjamin Hansen
Dear Pete- You're welcome.Your brother did a great job and I really enjoyed that piece a lot. It came after doing a string of tough to listen to review as was in that context even more refreshing. I like the genre you guys have come up with too.
Hey Pete, I just listened to My Last Prayer. I thought it was a nice tribute to your mother in law, and I am sure it really ministered to those who came to her funeral to celebrate her life. As far as critiquing it, I would say that the melody needs some more variation. The verses are long and there's not a whole lot to break them up. Makes it more like a stream of consciousness song, which may be what you were trying to achieve. Since the production is basic (piano, voice), it gets almost too predictable, and the chorus is so much like the melody. So if you think you ever want to revisit this song to work on it a bit, those are my thoughts. I did like the way you doubled the vocal at the end of the verses. That was a nice touch! Do you do all your own production?
thks pete ...check out my song just uploaded today ...just to teach you...cheers al reed
Dear Al Reed Thank you for your review of my song 5IVE WAY ROAD TO PEACE. I had an inspiration the same way I do with many songs & lyrics I have written over the years and not completed, simmilar to your M.O. I believe that if any two people shake hands, they will find it almost impossible to harm eachother, ever! A simple key to peace. Anyhow, I am more focused these days on following through with the ideas to the end. It is great to be bursting out with musical and lyrical inspirations. Good luck with yours! Respectfully Pete
cheers pete...dont be a stranger
check out my new upload song just to teach you
Hey there Pete in Tucson. thanks for reviewing Armor of God. Glad you liked it. God bless you and have a great day. Mrs. Kate in Florida
Dear Mr. Gustavo Lovato, Thank you for your review of our song "Nyles Nile", I do have challanges to overcome when trying to add to my brother John's incredible classical guitar style. What we do is record his musical creations as a solo track on his profile page and then with added instrumentation uploaded on both our profiles to make available 2 versions. Maybe some seasoned violin or other stringed instrument pros will offer to work with us to create something very powerful. Again, Thanks and welcome to Broadjam Respectfully Pete
Dear Mr. William Beach, Thank you for your review of my song 5IVE WAY ROAD TO PEACE, and thank you for the high score, advise & supportive comments. Respectfully Pete
Dear Tuan Luu & band members, Thank you for your review of my song "FEAR", and thank you for the kind and supportive coments. Good luck to you all! Respectfully Pete
Dear Mr. Murray. Thank you for taking the time to review my song "A Hero" and thanks for the supportive coments. Respectfully Pete
Thanks Pete for the review of my piece 'Angelina' glad you liked it. I also have a solo piano version of the same piece on my page. Regards. Mike.
Love the song 'When I' - wonderful to listen to - nice vocals!! regards, Till
Thanks Till, for your coment on "When I" Respectfully Pete
Pete, many thanks for your kind review of my song, "Edge Of Nowhere". I very much appreciate the constructive comments on the lyrical aspects. I think you and many others have correctly pointed out that the lyrics could be hard to follow and dense. I have come to agree. I think sometimes simple is better and I may have been too introverted in the concept of this song. Definitely food for thought for my future writings! Cheers! (by the way, I am honored you compared me to Yes or Chicage, two faves of mine!)
Dear Mr. Robert Adams, Thank your for your thorough review and high score of our song "Rapids Ride". It always pans out. That is my perspective of seasoned pros like yourself. You always have something valuable and supportive to offer fellow musicians and their efforts. High score or not, your kindness and good natured personality shines through in your words. I always make it my objective to not only respond to folks like you with a large THANK YOU but to connect to you, and support you, your musical creations and your goals, whatever that may be. Not in just words but in, at the very least, actively listening to your songs and running up your song play numbers. Good Luck! Respectfully Pete Hansen
Hi Pete. You're welcome for the review. Really liked that song; it really had a bright and crisp sound to it that suited the style and feel of the song perfectly. So beautifully played, too. Thank you for the kind comments. I appreciate your philosophy as well. Thanks for connecting. I'll check more of your material.
Dear Paul Fife, Thank you for your review of my song "When I" It was truely helpful and encouraging. Your philosophy on how to treat fellow musicians is right on the money. We all have a common passion. Though in varying degrees, we all would like to be acknowledged and encouraged. I like to sign off on my reviews with "Respectfully". I believe a warm sincere helpful review shows the character of the reviewer and those are the musicians I want to surrounded by. Respectfully Pete
Something supportive is always appreciated. I can always find some redeaming quality in a fellow musicians creations. Pete
thanks for the review..will look at yr suggestions
Dear Mr. Chase Thompson & Mr. Tyler McMullen, I got to be the first one to listen to "Smile As You Go". Great song! I had also just reviewed "Dont Get Setimental". I wish I could explain much better what I had said in my review about the vocals & lyrical hook. I listen to most of my favorite songs just to hear a few vocal notes that buckle my knees. Your vocals are great and I don't mean to be a bother but your song is just on the edge of greatness and some magical vocal expression in the right spot would do it. Sometimes trying to capture some magic and record it the way we imagined it is like trying to catch the wind. Anyhow, Good luck Respectfully Pete
