Hi Randy, Thanks for the comments on my Piano Song! Great observations. Interestingly, it was an actual acoustic grand piano I recorded with an SM58 in my bedroom. I think your comments were right on point! Thanks for taking the time. Paul Pierce
Hi Paul, Very nice piece. Your comment to me facilitated my being able to listen to your other music. What a treat, you have some real talent my friend. Not only great tunes but real instruments and real players...pedal steel... Im green with envy.
I admire the diversity of your song genres, and enjoyed listening to many of your works, but this song really struck me. The music is beautiful and the touch of dissonance was perfect for the story. "Are you holding on to a rope that's tied/to nothing else on the other side." Fantastic line. That's when I really connected to Little Bird. This song is truly brilliant.
Hi Sonya, thank you so much for your feedback. It's really gratifying to know that you enjoyed my song in this way and that this specific lyric grabbed you. I see you are a lyricist. Usually when I write a song the music pops into my head really quick but I feel like I have to struggle with the lyrics. I will take a listen to some of your songs when I have more time this week. Take care.
Love hearing that! Good for you, Randy.
Welcome to Broadjam! Mrs Kate
Paul, thanks for the listen and review of "Baby Said Bye, Bye". This was a quick and dirty recording done in my little home studio a few years ago done mostly to get the idea down. Someday I'll revisit it and address some of the points you noted. Appreciate the input. Bill
I appreciate it! I did a bunch of early reviews when I joined this, and have seen the review process more since then. Having not gone back to read my review of your work, I'm hopeful I was not too critical cuz that doesn't seem to be the focus of this site. I just gave what felt like honest opinions. Good luck with your music!
Listened to "I'm Sure" just now. What a pretty tune!
Paul, Just heard your, "Chocolate" Song....very cute dude!! Extremely original lyrically and the music is spot on perfect!!!! 5 Stars! Like you to come on down to our Broad Jam site and have a listen and maybe even become Broad Jam Buddies, we'll leave the light on!! Margie & Art Corey Broad Jam............. Stay Safe...........
Margie and Art that's such a great comment! I'm humbled. I will pop on down to the twist and shout and say hello to you guys on your BJ site.
Hey Randy! Thanks for the 5 Stars! Really appreciate you man. Keep rockin!
Well deserved! Great musicianship!
Thanks Paul for kind words on "Storm Of Days". Appreciate the review!
Hello Paul Pierce Project. Just wanted to say thank you very much for the killer and thorough review you left for my song "Set Me Free". It's not often that a reviewer puts in a whole 2 minutes to write a review for a song they listened too so I really appreciate that man. Thank you! To answer your question who do we feel we sound like? That's a good question. Some of the songs in my catalog are fairly obvious and then there are others that I don't even know where they came from. For the song you reviwed I've heard people say Janis Joplin but only bcuz of the vocal. Musically I am a big fan of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler as well as The Dave Matthews Band and a band out of Palm Springs called Masters of Reality and Pink Floyd. I guess it could be a subtle mishmash of all of the above. Thanks again!!!
Thanks for the kind words Ante Novaselic! I'm new here. Maybe I'm different, but when I review a song I actually want to hear the whole song, look at the different elements and then let people know what I think. I am hopeful people will do that with my music, but I guess I'll have to wait and see. At any rate, I really enjoyed listening and hope to hear more!
You do not want to hear the high end of that program. No one does. Starry Night...
Ver tight music. Nice what you can do with stuff. May have piece....probably not. lkb
Piano in the Chapel: Yes, haunting...and lovely, particularly the first few measures that are repeated. Love Will Find the Way: I can imagine Sting doing this song. It has that feel the just borders on the catchy reggae style of rhythm he is fond of. Feels so Right: Ever hear of the duo, Double, and their smooth jazz? That's the feel of this song. I like it a lot.
Thanks for the kind words John! I appreciate you taking the time.
Hi Lawrence. I critiqued a song or two of yours today. Nice piano work! I just wanted to say hello. Hope you find success with your music my friend! Paul Pierce
You're right.... much better...don't feel bad... I don't sing for beans also
No worries. The guy who does my mixes always wants me to sing and I always tell him someone else should. We argue about this, lol so know I will use your review as proof to win my argument, lol
Lol! Randy, don't sell yourself short! You are a STYLIST, which is often better than being a great singer. The world is full of them. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Kim Carnes, Cher... to name a quick few. Except you don't bother with the pitch correction!! Just keep singing your songs brother. The world with catch up soon!
thanks
