Dear Miss Louise, You is gettin to be a big star! But ifen you needs a laugh, drop by for our new tunes. I thinks you will like Two Dicks some. - Fever
Hi Anne. Thank you so much for your review of "Broken". I had seven reviews waiting for me and yours was the most complimentary! Love "Rockin' Mellow" - keep doing what you do. Cheers, Louise
Thank you for the wonderful review for my " I wanna sing " song? You can be as cheeky as you like! LOL! Thank you again. Kind regards Lee...(:-)
Hi Randy, thanks very much for reviewing "Heart Of A Dead Man". Your feedback is the most useful feedback I've ever had. I'm aware that I can't write a good chorus but I'm still trying. I've just listened to "When You Go Home" and it is beautiful. You're a talented guy. I can imagine this piece being used in an emotional scene of a film and it would make everyone cry even more. The piano chords in the intro are really loud through my headphones and it may put other folk off listening to the rest of the song, but I still loved it.
I had hoped any of my stuff would be used but so far nothing. I am so glad you found what I wrote about your song useful. To say you can't write a chorus is obviously not true. I am broken has an excellent chorus. I'd love to work on a song like that (nice song). Horns would really make that one come alive.
Hi Andy, thanks for reviewing "Broken". I agree with your recording tips but I'm limited with time, skill, money and equipment. Still not entirely convinced my songs are worth an investment. I'm having a love-hate relationship with songwriting at the moment. I like the vibe of your music. All the best. Louise
Hi David, Thanks for your review of When You Fall. I think you hit the nail on the head with the chorus. I'm a sucker for a good melody yet I can't seem to deliver a good chorus. I was once told not to consider myself a songwriter until I'd written 100 songs. I've got 95 to go!
Hiya Louise. It's a really good song. Reviewers keep telling me that I need more hooks and distinctive choruses. It's bit of a frustration because to me they sound fine. I find that the only way to deliver a good chorus is to really let go; change the timing, speed the song up, add extra instruments. I wouldn't claim to be a songwriting guru by any means but I find that by changing chords every one or two bars in the chorus, rather than every four bars as in the verses does the trick. Verses set a certain mood but the chorus should take the listener somewhere else. Just thrash out a chorus and see where it takes you. Regards. David
Louise, "When You Fall" is a beautiful and moving song that explores an area that at some time touches most of our lives in some way... Your voice delivered it with such feeling and beauty...My heart goes out to all who have lost someone in this most difficult way..
Hi Penny. I wrote this song to get the girl out of my head. I couldn't stop thinking about her. Weird feeling that the song was writing itself - not a lot to do with me! You're a bit of a legend on here so your comments mean a lot.
Perhaps it was coming through you in a way, and maybe it is healing somehow for all.Again beautiful song and so purely expressed..Thanks so much for your nice note. -Penny
Louise, you just reviewed my song and said you didn't have much of a voice...you're wrong...but, if you need one...there's always Penny...she IS a legend around here ya know?
Louise you have an AMAZINGLY beautiful voice! You would not be needing me but thank you Bobby :) A legend (big ham bone more like) LOL! You are cute Bobby! Hope things are good with you.I really love your Elvis song.
Hey Richard. What a beautiful, unique sound you have. Clever and gorgeous. You need to upload some more songs because I want to hear more.
My Dear Louise. Thank you for you kind words on Love's a Mystery, a filler I wrote so I could play a set at a local pub and get free food and drink. Your When You Fall makes the Top 10! Move it to the top of your list, and watch her fly!
Told You So! Top 10! Yippie!
Miss Louise. Hot Damn! I is Pickled Pink (as MeMaw used to say) to have you as our very first virtual Friend. Kind of like a Ghost, which is what our next tune is about, only laying one (no offense). I asked Eric onst why all our friends is girls, and he makes out it's on account of us being borned orphans and raised by womenfolk. We likes your new song Money. We aint got nothing neither, but we always share it. - Fever
Dear Miss Louise. Eric say if we find folks with weird art, we will find a true heart. All your songs is way better than ourn, but we ain't jealous. You sound real purdy. - Fever
Hey Fever. You're a couple of funny guys and you made me laugh. "Weird art" and "true heart" will have to find their way into my next song. I'll will follow you couple of charmers. L
Louise, When You Fall is now Top 10, but You are always Top 10 to me! - N
Thanks Nick. I got four songs in Top 10 chart. Broken even got to No.1! Just in time for heading back to work and reality. I always appreciate your encouraging comments, as do so many others on here. Take care, L
Louise, my mistress of misery. When You Fall is so beautiful and haunting. You are like the Angel of Death (she is said to be the most beautiful). So glad to stumble across you on Friday the 13th! A gift of rare beauty, each of your songs is like an Angel's hymn to humanity. I hope someone is listening! - N
Hey Nick. You're so sweet and a wizard of words. I love being a mistress of misery. My husband also approves! How's your wife? I hope she's winning. Thanks for your kind words. Will keep in touch. L
Hi Louise! I love your songs! Each is so original and unique. Great production and beautiful voice. I thank Nick Fuse for introducing you to me. Very impressive and thought provoking work! Penny
Hi Penny. Thanks so much for your encouraging comments. I spilt coffee on my computer keyboard which has made it infuriating to type as my delete key stopped working! You have written so many songs. Where do you get the time and inspiration? I've got two small kids and a full time job so writing is at the bottom of the pile but I have to squeeze it in to keep sane. Thanks again for your kind words. It's always nice to hear. Nick is a bit of a legend encouraging other people and sharing his love of music. Keep writing yourself, it's fuel for the soul.
Thanks Louise, nice to hear from you and again a pleasure to hear your songs and to meet you. That Nick is inspiring and very encouraging! Yes you are right writing is fuel for the soul! Hope you continue to create your wonderful songs despite the large demands of your life.Beautiful work!
Thanks so much for the very positive review of "Lay Me Down" Louise. Your kind words are very much appreciated. - JK
What a gem! Wish I could write songs like this. The story is great and your voice is incredible but also what a genius you are to blend all these instruments so beautifully. I'm a fan!
Hey Louise, That's lovely. Thanks. Which song have you just listened to.
Hi Alex. It was Healesville I listened to. It was running round my head last night and I even woke up singing "I may go there slowly". So catchy and makes me think of home too.
Hooray! Vultures made the Top 10! Take this a as compliment to keep going! Well Deserved!
Hi Nick, thanks for noticing. It does tickle my fancy to know that I'm in a chart with some great musicians. Have you listened to Alex Legg at No. 1 in the alternative country? He's pretty cool. I'm too busy with work to give much attention to my music at the moment but there's a holiday looming for me to get back into it. Sounds like you're finding time to listen to plenty music; have you been writing?
My Dear Louise, Alex and I are pals from long ago. His Scottish/Aussie accent is unmistakable. Your voice is so angelic, it feels like a light summer shower to my ears. I have about 400 songs written, but no time or talent to get them down. Being musically illiterate is a handicap. I bought some software that was supposed to write sheet music from midi input, but with vocals it transcribes a Brandenburg Concerto. Too complicated for simplicity. I am spending time listening to and encouraging the musicians who are better than me, in an attempt to get them to where I am. New stuff coming for Christmas. You are a Gift! - N
Hi Laurence, thanks for your review of When You Fall. It's only the 4th song I've written and I know there's lots still to learn. Well done on your songwriting success.
Hi Louise, Really enjoyed your song so keep them coming ! We all need encouragement so thank you for your kind words ! All the very best Laurence
Louise, You reviewed one of my early works, "NO NAME" . You are absolutely correct! I don't use much midi anymore, horns sound real bad, I hope this will not denture you from lending an ear . Perhaps "experiment with love" or "my silver friend" TAPPIN' TOMMY
Hey Tappin' Tommy. Whoa, 118 songs! I liked "experiment with love". Wish I'd learnt the upright bass, it's so cool. Trumpets in harmony is just class too. Love the title "May the fleas...." it reminded me of the time I first heard the Beatles with a sitar, unusual but inspired.
Thank you so very much. I'm getting better at it partly because of reviews. experiment with love is one of my last works. love TAPPIN' TOMMY
My wife, a former ER and Rn listened, and totally got it. Incredible song about a painful unreal experience.
That's a big compliment. My friends an intensive-care nurse and I couldn't stop thinking about her experience. Once I'd written it, I could let it go. I'm chuffed that I've captured an experience I've never had.
Just listening to "Broken." Talk about imbedded irony! The contrast of the 'black' lyrics with the almost Cole Porter-ish keyboard playful lilts is quite something. Your voice is pure and very beautiful, your lyricism is spontaneous and surprising. Great work.
"Heart Of A Dead Man" ---wow!!!
Very kind Kurt. Think you boosted interest in the song by your comment though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. I love Years Left To Burn. I am 35 and just "starting to catch on". Such a beautiful and profound song. You're writing from the right place and for the right reasons.
35 is the Best! Live Life Now! Parts start to fall off after 40...
Thanks, Louise. "Years" is complete autobiography, and is more than anything a tribute to my father, as well as remarking on the incredible power and dynamics of family. And, of course, lessons... I will follow your music!
I've been trying to write a song about my father for a few years. I've realised from your song that I've been focussing on his death rather than his life. I'm inspired, thanks.
Louise, Thanks for your kind review of my song "Tom Morgan." I appreciate it. Others have disliked the amount of reverb I used to enhance my voice. I've never been compared to Don Maclean, but thanks! I do think barring a few gaffs my guitar work was pretty clean on that one. Best wishes, Kurt Lehman
Hey Louise, Pretty Hip and Hopping tune about a Dead Man! Just my kind of Alternative. Happy and Gruesome. You are a Hidden Gem! I am sending you a Friend request because you might like my Dementos. Cheers! St. Nick
Hi Nick. Thanks for the compliments! A great start to my day. I'd love to write a cheesy ballad but I keep coming up with this twisted stuff when I write. Food for the soul just the same. All the best with your music too.
Hi Louise, Thank you very much for your review of "Intimate Meeting"! I listened to your songs and you have a beautiful voice. I especially like "Heart of a Dead Man". Please keep in touch, Ady
Hi Ady, I had a look at your bio and a few songs after I reviewed "Intimate Meeting". You are clearly very talented. I am so impressed with such an eclectic mix of music. Annabel Lee is just the most beautiful song, I love the story-telling quality. Great melody but harmonically very interesting too. I appreciate your compliment of my voice but I'm not a singer. I work with what I've got! If you have any time, I'd love some constructive criticism of my song-writing. All the best with your music. Louise
Dear Louise, Thank you very much. I'm glad you like "Annabel Lee". The lyrics are by Edgar Allan Poe, so of course the lyrics are amazing... I hope the music does the lyrics justice... I'll listen to your songs again and let you know my thoughts. In the meantime, Take care, Ady
Thank you for your kind review of "Sweet In-Between". I appreciate the feedback very much.
Louise, Thank you for the review on "SKANKIE MACHINE"-ONE OF MY EARLIER WORKS, I'll check and see about the vibraphone. I do hope out of my hundred tunes you find something that you love. I think my best work is "MY SILVER FRIEND"! Keep up the good work and I'll do the same, TAPPIN' TOMMY
Hi Penny. Thanks so much for the really nice review of Broken. My membership has just about expired and I'd given up on anyone finding anything good to say about my songs. I'm envious of your strong, soulful voice. Love your eclectic mix of styles too.
Thank you so much Louise! Don't give up on the music!Keep creating.I enjoyed listening to your work,Penny
Hey Louise, Have just listened to all your tracks...mega impressed! Loving "Broken" and "When You Fall" - they're just the sorts of songs I like to listen to. Are you doing quite a lot of songwriting nowadays? Did you enter that competition in the end? Hope you're well. :) x
