John... I read your review of the song "Soul to Soul". You know, you're in the studio and the backdoor opens with a guy rollin' in an amp and right behind him in walks "The Mule" himself haulin' his Flying V beside him. You have the honor of someone like my friend Lonnie Mack droppin' by to sit in on a couple of tracks, you know how it is, you just don't tell a legend what to do in the studio. Now Chuck Berry can tell Keith Richards what he wants him to play and how he wants him to sound but otherwise, ya just don't try to produce guys like Lonnie Mack. Ya just let him strap it on, plug it in and FLY!!! It's his signature tone and licks LOL!!! There's actually a funny anecdote that goes along wth that particular session. My, at the time, 17 year old son Kasey was arranging and producing the project. They don't call Lonnie "Mule" for nothing!!! By the way, that was a bit of a non-committal review!!! I'd rather somone hate my stuff than put me right smack dab in the middle of the road. It's kinda like someone not being slow and yet they aren't fast either... their half fast. Please, anything but half fast. Love me or hate me but I just don't want the rep of being half fast at anything!!! LOL!!! Thanks, John. Play On!!! www.lonniemack.com
