So relaaaxing! I had to shake myself awake as it ended!
Superb vocals and authentic nature intro from birds etc. Drift Away Hook was extremely effective!
Nice one Jenny!
Noticed the Title, "Drift Away" on perusing!
Same as one of my songs.
I was intrigued how someone else portrayed it!
Completely different, but as emotionally perfect I think! Thanks, jim

Hi Randall Mark, I love them both- 5 stars from me!!! I love the simplicity of your tracks and yet they are so rich and so well written. They do not need all the fancy orchestration other tracks often need. They are so marketable (if that's even a word) too. Great job. Can't wait to hear more!

Hey John, thanks so much for your download and 5 star rating of my track Love Over Fear. It's an old tune of mine, but decided to upload for a licensing opportunity. Sorry I've never made it happen with the online super group- I've been going through some pretty heavy family stuff this end, and to be honest I have not been online or making any music for the past few months, as I navigate my way through it. Please know how honoured I am to have been asked and I am sorry it has been so difficult my end. Hoping you are all well. Kind regards Jen :)

Hi, Jen. Our supergroup always has time for you. Robert and I agree it's a slow moving thing but it will get going. The ftp site is still there and so are the pages. You can have the instructions to get on anytime. To have heavy things happening that cause emotional duress takes a lot of time to get through and you always have our caring and understanding. We're going through our set of individual problems, too. I think the group needs the time to realize there isn't the pressure, demands, or problems that groups often experience. We would like it to be a fun and available experience. When you're ready, drop on in. Also, drop by our pages, we have some new songs. I also have songs I'm redoing to make them that elusive definition of "broadcast quality."
Love and caring from myself and the rest of us,
John

A Hearty, Well done Jenny with, "Missing You"!
Beautiful song, Beautifully sung and so meaningful to listeners, but especially you!
I read your words about the song and your tender love for your son!
I cannot imagine the pain you have been through but my eyes glazed when listening to you sing it the way only you could. I loved the pre chorus melody.you sung with passion and the strings with superb piano added to the songs standing!
The inspiration aside, it is a really lovely song!
Only a fellow Scot could tug heart strings like you did! Thankyou for sharing a tender, personal and most beautiful song!

Just a quick recording thought, if you ever remix your tune, you might consider pulling back on the reverb a tad....just a suggestion??

Hi Again Margie & Art Corey, thanks once again for the great feedback and some constructive stuff in there too, which is always good. Yeah- I can tend to overdo the reverb a bit so, consider it noted. I am still learning and navigating my way through using Logic Pro- and whilst I love it, I have a very long way to go in terms of getting the sound right. I find that I often think my voice sounds better with more reverb, but I think that is with the reason of masking my vocals a tad, which I never believe are good enough. However, as you mentioned I tend to go a bit too much on the reverb and tend to agree with what you're saying. Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback- always appreciated! Jen

Hey Jenny. don't feel alone. when I first started recording at home, I did the same exact thing, I over used the Reverb App!! It's what us Newbies do! The first time I used Reverb, I thought that God had actually showed up in my Music Studio and I was having a religious moment!!
You know.....like one is almost hearing the Arch-Angel calling out from On High for the first time!! That's a bit of an over dramatization, but you get the picture!!
I then kept getting text from Broad Jam members saying, DUDE, lay off the VERB!!
You have an excellent Voice and don't need to mask it at all, just slightly employ it to soften the sound!!
For the Record, I have never liked my voice, but every Now & Then it works on some compositions!
Again, I am just trying to be helpful, that's all Folks!

Hi Margie & Art Corey, thank you so much for your lovely feedback, it really means a lot. So many hours goes into making a track, and it's frustrating (as I am still learning) when you're not even sure if your track sounds that good. The only way to get feedback is to put it out there. So, thank you for being so kind and supportive of this track that I "put out there." I have just finished another track called "Heal Yourself" that is a similar (yet different) vibe. I am currently trying to get the mastering/mixing right but will aim to put it up on Broadjam as soon as I get that sounding a bit better. I will also hop on and have more of a listen to your music- I love your vibe! And yes- certainly to Broadjam Buddies- Cheers Jen :)

Hi John, thx so much for the review of Wonder Boy (KaytLynn). I must say, you have a way with words, that comes across not only in your song lyrics, but in your review of other people's songs!! I was actually very entertained reading your description of my song. You obviously "get" it, and you explain the meaning probably better than me, the songwriter even can! Hey Jenny,
Hope you are well? I saw your update and went across to check out the website and the new album release...it is sounding amazing-well done.
But, of course, what struck me the most was watching the kickstart video of you explaining the story and emotions behind what you have been doing. It's very hard not to be entirely consumed by the emotion and grief that you and your husband have been through but incredible to come out of it with such a positive and powerful project that will be helping many other parents who have been through the hell that you have.
What struck me most was how brave and courageous you are as a family...and of course, the sheer and utter love for your son.
I'm off to give our newest one the biggest hug ever.

Awe, what a beautiful message to receive Robert, thank you. Thanks for taking the time to check out my website and info etc. I should probably update my info, as that album is not so 'current' anymore. Well it is and it isn't. I receive emails each week from bereaved parents thanking me for the album or asking how they can download for free, so it will always be ongoing. However, I am about to set up a music studio in our new home and plan to do much more producing and creating over the coming months. Something is waiting to be birthed... and it's not a baby- hahaha! That video was the clip for my Kickstarter campaign where I raised the money to make the album using a professional Music Producer, Mike Caen. He did an amazing job and was awesome to work with, however I would really like to learn how to do the production side of things by myself. I may possibly hire him to put on some epic guitar now and then. How is everything going your end, both musically and with your little army. Bubby number 4 must be getting bigger now. Probably at that super cute stage where you are getting smiles and beautiful hugs. Great to connect- sorry my reply took a while, I have not been on Broadjam for a while. Cheers Jen :)

Morning Jenny.
Not a problem at all...I am not always on Broadjam, although I have been a lot of late as it has been quite a fruitful platform.
Thanks for the extra info about the whole project. Regardless of when, it is still amazing and what a thing to give back...the easy thing to do would be to simply stay in a bubble where you can grieve privately but by opening up in the way you have done, you have surely given so many people the chance to connect and probably realise that they are not alone.
I'm very excited to hear more about your plans for becoming a top producer! I will be booking out some virtual time in your virtual studio once you've got this all sussed out! It is without question a skill. When I first entered the music 'game', I foolishly believed that ANYONE can mix a song and make it sound great but how wrong was I?!! That's amazing that you are going for it....
I'm doing well. Not sure if you saw my wee article in SongUniverse? https://www.songwriteruniverse.com/ robert-quigley-212.htm
I was absolutely astonished to get this so it has given me a real boost again, which as you know, is needed every now and then!
The wee man is now 3 months old which is exactly where you described...smiling, babbling, laughing and loving the new found joys of Peppa Pig which I genuinely thought were done after the previous 3!
Great to connect again...give my regards to Australia and I will pass on your best to the homeland!

Hi Again Robert, sorry for delayed response. We have been in our new home for a week now and it's finally starting to feel like a home. Has taken a while to get through all of our boxes but we are pretty much unpacked and settled. Kids have settled in nicely to their new schools and I am just waiting on a desk to arrive and then I will finally be able to set up a music room- hooray! I cannot wait to get stuck back into making some more music, it's been months and I am itching to get started.

I tried to look up the link you sent to the article about you but it won't open for me for some reason? How awesome, you got an article written up about you too!!! I assume you got Songwriter of the Universe Award? That is just so amazing and I am super happy for you. Well deserved I say- you have a great sound all round. Great vocals, great guitar and music and great lyrics and catchy songs.

Thanks for your comments about my dance track too btw. So awesome to get feedback like that on the stuff that I have produced completely on my own, with no help. I am still very much learning but I so enjoy it and making dance tracks has been fun. Glad you could hear the 90's influence- hahaha.

I imagine the weather is starting to warm up on your end? As we have just moved further North, it still feels like mid summer this end, even though we are heading into winter. Just been for a swim down at my local beach and the water was beautiful.

Wow 3 months old already- how time flies. Oh yes, I remember the Peppa Pig days- what fun! Hope it's all going well with the whole family.

Chat soon, Jen :)

Hey thank you Original Quigley- you probably didn't see it because I hadn't added it yet. I've been drip feeding my songs- not all of them are on here. I usually add them when I see a music licensing opportunity I want to submit to. How's life at the top? You must have been buzzing to have won Broadjam 100, I know I would be!!! There's a slight element of Stereophonics to your music. I used to love them and go see them live in Scotland. Yet- you have your own original sound too (and obviously not as heavy)... you certainly have a talent! Hope all going well with bubby number 4- I remember that stage well... it's wonderful and tough all rolled into one. Hope you guys are getting some sleep. Happy New Year btw. Jen :)

Yeah, absolutely delighted! It's just a case of now hoping that someone will take a chance and license it. Have you had any songs licensed yet? I'm just itching for that first one...
I love Stereophonics! Kelly's voice is so unique...my other big influences are The Fray and Travis.
You'll be missing the snow that we are having just now over here?! If I recall, Dollar used to get a decent dumping, just like Kinross used to.
Anyway, take care and keep on doing what you are doing....extremely well!

Ah YESSS... that for me is the most satisfying thing about making music (apart from the process)- when I hear it helped or inspired a listener- great stuff! I know The Fray and Travis well and now you mention it, I can see that as an influence in your music- awesome. I too like Kellly's voice. I really like your voice too- it's original yet easy to listen to- so it works with your name 'Original Quigley.' No I haven't had a song licensed yet... also would LOVE one! I am excited to have had 2 songs picked to be featured on The Woman of Substance Radio podcast this year- thanks to Broadjam. It's easy to lose hope with many rejections- but I think it's good to keep trying... there's someone out there who needs/wants your sound. You are certainly on the road to it after your recent success... just hang in there. As for the snow- oh yes I remember many a snowy time in Dollar- and Dollar was great for sledging with all those hills. Take care yourself and keep doing your excellent job my friend.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to some more of my music- I really appreciate it and your awesome feedback. I've been really enjoying just playing around with the producing side of things and electronic was the first genre to emerge! I am keen to try out many different genres and would be interested to see how my voice fits in a variety of styles. I am also keen to try working with other talented voices too. My bestie (from Scotland) has a cracking voice that Id love to use on some of my tracks. Yes- originally from Scotland- family were from St Andrews and Aberdeen, but we lived in Dollar. Tiny village but being Scottish, I'm sure you've heard of it- given the famous 'Dollar Academy?!' I saw you are in Inverness- my Aunty lived there for a while and I really liked it up there- a beautiful spot. Never saw the Nessie though!! Good luck with your new bub... I can't imagine what it is like to have 4... but I know life must be full on for you all right now. Congratulations 🎉

Oh wow! Small world....I went to school in Kinross which must be about 11 miles away! I know that because I dated a girl from Dollar who went to the High School so used to drive that road regularly aged 17!
Thank you...we had our wee one! A wee boy-Fyfe Quigley who is doing just great....you might not know what it's like to have 4 but I truly believe that any child that is brought into the world is an absolute game changer-so you absolutely know that and probably have more appreciation than most for how precious that is.
I know what you mean about trying different genres. I have my default, 'go to' style which is pop/rock/indie but with piano being my main instrument, I'm always only 5 minutes away from creating a melancholic piano only track!
Anyway....great to chat and nice to know that we have more than just musical connections! I look forward to hearing your next track entitled-"Castle Campbell"!!!!

It really is a small world... I learnt to drive and passed my driving test in Kinross- good times! It's a beautiful road between Kinross and Dollar- when it's not raining- haha. Last time I visited a couple of years back, I was blown away by the beauty on the bus ride I took my my Grandad's house in St Andrews, back to Dollar. It was so lush and green and the colours and shapes of the flowers had me in awe. It's amazing how much more you appreciate a place when you move away.

As for children being a 'game-changer'- oh yes I agree totally. I had NO idea until my first, what I was getting myself into. I love watching some of Michael Macintyre's comedy sketches on "having children"- it's so funny how naive we are before kids. They bring so much joy and love too- so it balances itself out, right! Especially in those early years, as you are about to go through again- such unconditional love and adoration from bub and parents.

As for your "default go-to style" I totally hear you and I think most musicians would agree they are the same. I think that's cool, cause we all have our style, but it's also great to push our limits and test the boundaries of what we are capable of. Sounds like you are close to doing just that?! Can't wait to hear your melancholic piano only track... I have been thinking of doing a similar track on piano, as I have so many unheard compositions that I've never recorded. Good luck with it!
