Hey Jeff thanks for your review of Dream Time, a BG instrumental chop...never heard of Stone to my knowledge, but certainly didn't copy anyone else's work, so I guess that was a compliment? Cheers Warren
Hi Warren She's a Rainbow by the Rolling Stones, I was writing quickly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c1 BThu95d8
Well hell man of course I've heard that! LOL... don't get the connection between mine and there's but can hear vague similarities. Stay safe W
Hi Jeff , thanks for your great review of SURFING THE NET , glad you enjoyed it . It's been a favourite of mine over the years , and has always been well received .
Hi Jeff I totally agree. I was as to write a cover for one of the artist Levon Beoadjam for a Six Pack cover can I was really po'd what he did to it. Check out just the piano file. Felice Kaye-Cooper
Glad we agree,Felice. I was probably a little less critical than I might have been about the vocal, But the piano playnig was nice.
Thanks
Hi Jeff, Thanks for a good review of The Moonlight. Cheers, Bob
And a great review of Demons In Your Darkness. It goes back a while, I think about 2003 when I was particularly influenced by music of the Eagles. Any reference to the them is a major compliment, thank you.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the review of Moroccan Star... So cool, Alan Parsons, I can totally hear that... and a lot of my songs have a Floyd vibe but this may blow your mind... I wrote this song in memory of Ronnie Montrose after he passed away so young back around 2014?? Anyways, I got to play with Ronnie, two auditions back in the mid 80s but I didn't get the gig... was a great experience playing with him though. Thanks for the good review!!
Hi Dave, it's an awesome track. I very much enjoyed listening to it. If I enjoyed listening to everything here as much, I'd be here all day just listening.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the listen/comments on "Papa Don't Mind". Wrote most of it back in the mid '80's, this version is about 6 to 7years old. The synth patches are what I had, and my voice isn't what it once was but I love to write and put stuff together and I've got to use what I have...probably like most here on Bjam. Always appreciate your input. Bill
Hi Bill It's a great tune.
Dave here again... this doesn't happen very often but you almost nailed the name of my song "March of the Militant" with your title "The March"... so I guess that point was very well represented in the song. Yes I set out to create a 'period piece' and pretty much nailed the march part. Thank you for the props on my orchestration; I have always felt this good about the construction of melodies in this song... you were spot on with all of your comments especially about my weak (mostly brass) sound palette, I know it's actually embarrassing to me because I have a pretty high recording standard but it's also a pretty old song. However I do want to point out that you missed on one comment; you were certain that the snare drums had to be virtual (not played live) which was similar to a comment you had on another song you reviewed where you thought the guitar player virtual... this time I think your comment was "You've also made the marching snare sound live though it certainly is not"... wrong, most certainly the snare drum playing feels live because it is live, I played the snare drum. That is quite a complement!! I did a lot of overdubs on various drums to create that disheveled Civil War military band sound. I do things old school like still recording live people. Also I'm into world music so hopefully you'll have a chance to review some of those songs.. I appreciate your fair and thorough reviews.
Snare definite sounded live, I should have figured that means it's live :) Surrounded by sampled instruments I figured it was sampled. After I realized it was you that did it I figured it was probably live as I recall from one of your reviews that you are a drummer that owns a studio. Great work Dave.
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your fair and detailed review of "Apocalypse". No virtual guitar players in this studio, I appreciate the review points.
Hey, Jeff. Thank you so much for the review of Addicted to You!!! Best wishes, Natalee.
You are most welcome, you rock.
Jeff, Thanks for the review and comments on "I Think of You". Started out as a Bossa Nova tune but morphed into what it is now. Not he perfect mix but maybe I'll get back to it and clean it up a bit. As always, thanks for the input. Bill
Hey, Jeff. It's late so I caught a little bit of some of your tunes and know I've got to stop by for a longer and thoughtful listen. Your review of "He Doesn't Know" is excellent and insightful. You have some very good ideas and I think I'll make a "singles" version of the song, cutting the minutes and trying out the closer to jazz style. Many thanks and I'll drop by again! John
Jeff, I appreciate the review and comments on "Maybe". I was actually aiming at the 'late 40's and early 50's with this tune. It's really written for a female vocalist but I had to settle for me. And I'd love to hear it done with a full blown orchestra arrangement...but.... Bill
Thank you, Jeff One Thing's for Certain is a personal fave. Life is GOOD!!! Peace, Robert
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the review and comments on "Fun Outside". Gotta be at least a 30 year old recording, and you nailed it...it was just an idea that I put down on tape and never got back to ...maybe someday... Thanks again, Bill

Hayward, I've been on Broad Jam for three or more years and just realized there are other members on these sites?? LOL!! Haaaaaaaaaa. AC.........
I've sold three songs here and toured nationally three times before I was 25. I play about 100 gigs a year. A couple weeks ago another aspiring Nashville wanna be gave a different tune of mine straight ones and a week ago I sold it. I don't care if you like what I do or not, your review had exactly nothing to do with the reality of the material and was insulting for no reason whatsoever, so you get back what you give out only worse. But you are always welcome at the Green Iguana in Tampa any time you want to step in a stage with real musicians and show what you got.
JEFF, I HAVE PLAYED AND PRODUCED SOME OF THE BEST NASHVILLE HAS TO OFFER! JEFF KING, RAY BARNETTE AND STILL DO WHENEVER I COME UP WITH ANOTHER GENIUS SONG!!! AND I'M GONNA RATE THEM AS I HEAR THEM BUD! AND IF YOU SOLD THAT SONG THAT I LISTENED TO LAST WEEK ON HERE YOU PROBABLY BOUGHT IT YOURSELL FOR A DOLLAR 99!!! LMAO
HI GANG! WELL I KINDA LIKE A GOOD DEBATE NOW AND THEN! LOL MR. MAGUIRE GOT ANOTHER EAR FULL THIS MORNING! HIS TUNE REALLY SUCKED!!! LMBO
Warning ... cap lock alert, idiot present.
WELL HELLO THERE JEFF! YES SIR I USE ALL CAPS JUST TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW THAT I'M NOT ANYTHING CLOSE TO BEING A "POLITICALLY CORRECT" PUSS!!! AND YOU MY FRIEND HAVE GOTTA BE A FREAKIN DUMB ASS "DUMMYCRAT" TO BE SO HURT ABOUT MY REVIEW OF YOUR SHITTY LIL TUNE! AND I DO LUV THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T WAIT TO READ MY NOTES HERE IN THESE BEAUTIFUL CAPS!!! YEP, YOU READ EM ALL HUH! WAIT!!! YOU MUST BE A GAY DEMOCRAT! DID I HURT YOUR FEEEEELINGS??? LMFAO
I LOVE YA'LLS WORK MARGE AND ART !!! !!!
"HAPPY MEM DAY" !
Writing in all caps is considered rude and discourteous. It's a sign of an over an inflated ego and a lazy mans way of calling attention to himself. It can be understood as the internet equivalent of shouting, but might more accurately be described as the adult equivalent of an infant crying because it's diaper needs to be changed.
JUST GRADED A HAND FULL OF YOUR SONGS INCLUDING YOUR SONG "FUCK A DUCK" OR WHAT EVER IT IS! LMAO OH! BUT I LOVED 2 OF YOUR COVER SONGS! YOU ARE A REAL ERIC CLAPTON!!! LOL
Thanks very much, Jeff, for your great review of B 04. Déjàvu Doo ft Leslie Sahlen. Very much appreciated.
You guys rock, great tune.
I greatly enjoyed your review of "Special You" (Little Bit Of Cheese" I agre with you a great deal..NOW, however that may have hurt a tad when I first wrote and recorded it 20yrs ago. lolol..but THANK you for the honestly! That was AWESOME!!!
Hey man, hind sight is a wonderful thing. Sometimes I go back 20 years to my old stuff and wonder wtf I was thinking.
Hey Barry, thanks for the review of Phil Woods, what you refer to as distortion on the trumpet is a lip trill , it's like a growling sax, it is a pretty sophisticated effect. It is a matter of taste, but it's intentional and entirely consistent with the style, listen to Kenny Dorham's solo right about 1 minute mark on Blue Bossa .... Granted the recording could be louder so at some point I may change that .... check this out if you want to hear a lip trill on a trumpet. It does sound distorted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7e Os5lERww
fair enough, I wasn't quite sure what I was hearing , not sure if it was distorted, I just knew there was something happening there and That was all I could think of that it could be> sorry for my ignorance. drop that song into some mastering software and you can bring it up to full volume, I assume it was a live track which is always a little tougher to master.
No worries, there definitely is a distorted sound in the part of the trumpet part but it's intentional ... If you like jazz check out Kenny Dorham's solo on the original version of Blue Boss with Joe Henderson. He used to do it a lot,
will do thanks
thanks for the review of Drunken In The Road..i will take it to heart and work it out...good ideas.
Thanks Jeff for the review of my tune Saxerly. I appreciate the advice and you're probably right about the category which I will change.
Thanks for your review of Put Yourself In My Place!
Hi Jeff, thanks for the review of Golden Days. Good comments spot on.
Hi Jeff--Thanks for your review of My Birthday. If I decide to re-record, will implement your suggestions. Best, Hattie
Thanks very much, Jeff, for your review of Song: 05. Tragedy. I "get it" with respect to your suggestions and feel they are very valid. Best, Jay
Jeff, thanks for your honest an acurate review of "Singing the Blues".. It's a recording from an old cassette that I did about 40 years ago!!..(it's even missing the beginning notes!! I'll send you an updated version when old man Arduini gets around to it!! Thanks again Ron
Hi Jeff thanks for the review of 1984 - all points taken on board!
Hi Nigel, hope I'm being constructive, cheers. Jeff
It's all good!
Hey Jeff... Thank you for your nice insightful review of my song BABY PLEASE. You are absolutely correct... It is very reminiscent of the Atlanta rhythm section song. That's intentional. This was recorded for a project for song licensing in the southern rock vein
Very nicely done Derrick.
Thanks for the sweet review of my song, TOO MUCH. Very kind of you. Yes...real drummer, however not real drum sounds. Song goes back to the 80's...we were using some very "new" recording techniques involving drum pads, etc.
That makes sense, great sound Derrick.
Thanks Jeff for reviewing "Some other time"which I recorded about 18 years ago.. It was a Tony Bennett and Bill Evans tune that I did a cover version of.. Hum, I wish I could find the recording of my piano track so I could re-sing it again!!
Cheers Jeff and thanks for the review of my remixed from my producer's real guitar work from my song Dumb Luck-check it out if you have time. I used a couple of the stems and just iso'd them that's why the effect--cuz I'm no engineer so in a way your words were what I was trying to do anyway thanks for the cool review Warren Hein
Welcome Warren, great sound.
Thanks, Jeff, for the review of Mediterraneo. I know that the song is a bit long and underdeveloped. This was a demo for a little movie and was used just like you hear it. It was licensed as is so I decided to post the song on broadjam. I will work on a more developed version that is not an impprovv. Thanks for your kind words. Max
Hello Massimo, sometimes you just have to tailor a piece to a context, it's very nice as is. I had a feeling it was already being used somewhere, it just felt that way.
Thanks for the review of Peanuts Again Jeff! You're right I think perhaps it is more RnB and will amend accordingly. All the Best.
this really is a Zappa Mingus track ! fascinatin' listening ! thx for the nice critique of my track. keep up this ingenious songwriting and superb production.
Thanks man, I really enjoyed your track, extremely well done.
thanks.
Thanks, Jeff, for the very fair review of Victory. I'm glad somebody besides me sees how horrible that crashing cymbal sounds. I left the final touches of that in someone else's hands, and I wish I would have recognized this at that time. It needs to be remade.
It's a great melody man, immediately sounded familiar, it definitely should be used somewhere. Crash symbol needs to go though.
I really love your stuff... its so refreshing to hear songs and sounds that sound so unique..
Thanks Randy, I really appreciate the comments and reviews.
