Hi Tom...Thank you for asking me to review your new song `Your the one for me' I think its a nice easy go song and found myself soon singing along with the chorus however I think that the production is a little flat and I think this could be improved by the addition of some interesting keyboard or guitar fills here and there and also its crying out for some extra vocal parts especially between the chorus lines....dont get me wrong its still a very nice song and well done.

Hi Derek, the time taken was well worth it! Ideas for your track? An Anne Boleyn musical written with this track as a recurring theme? A whole album of like minded gold nuggets based on historical characters? I am sure there will be other songwriters on this site, who can help in putting a 'compilation' album up on BJ if it is too big a task for one man? Set the challenge. Has there been such a thing done here before? Artistically it would bring a few songwriters together and be a solid project for the new year? I was once given permission to record 'Joan of Arc' by OMD themselves, (I know the singer/songwriter), that theme always fascinated me. Kind regards, Dave

Derek, thanks for your review of my song: TOO SOON TO LOVE AGAIN-2-. I'm the lyricist. I agree with you that it needs another instrument, but that's expensive to do. I didn't quite agree with you what you said about the lyrics, but thanks anyway.
Hi Reggie...many thanks for a thorough and professional opionion however I may not do anymore to this one...its not a favorite of mine....I'm a songwriter/ producer and I dont think my voice did it any justice....I think its that and that alone that put it into a demo bracket. Hi Dave...Many thanks for your review of my song `Let it fly' its actually a few years old now..It was recorded entirely on a keyboard (with the exception of the vocal ) It was one of those situations where I was doing a demonstration with a view to selling it...I stumbled on this sequence and it just evolved...I have noted your very professional comments in which I'm grateful however I think you'll agree that the primitive recording technique gave a pretty good result. I personaly love the track however its not everyone's favourite. Just for the record I now work on cuebase and use a mixture of real instruments and sampled sounds. Good luck with your own work.
I understand your process, yes many time (for me) an intended song idea morphs into something other than its original inspiration. I'm glad to see that someone else suffers the same side effects. I also use Cubase, it's pretty great huh? Good luck to you too... Dave
Hi Derek, thank so much for your kind review of my song "Superhuman." That was so interesting to me that you commented that it sounded dated, as I actually just had the keyboard tracks redone to get rid of the retro sounds and add cooler synth. After all, I'm only 17 - no way do I want to sound dated lol!! Thanks again:) ~Amanda~

It is so interesting reading reviews of one's songs. I'm glad you like my bouncy happy song "Looking for a Girl." Thanks! It's been used in two weddings where the husband finally settled on one girl.
