God Bless you, Bob! Thanks for the enormous impact you had on my life while you were on this earth.
I understand that Bob passed in November of 2020. I first heard him live in the 1970s and was so impressed by his talent and passion for the Lord. Glad to see a lot of his music is here to enjoy.
Great writing and incredible production.
Lympic and rayburn
I really enjoy seeing the details on "Song Description" and Story Behind the Song". Note: Some of the text seems to be missing though.
reminiscing about enjoying Bobs' music over the years-excellent music and message
This website is great! Nice to see my Uncle Bob's music available here.
I spent a long time searching for this song that my college roommate used to play in 1983. Could not find it until now.
Do you have the joy by surprise cd?

Does anyone know what the back up vocalists are singing behind Bob Ayala on Joy by Surprise? I just can't make it out and I'm curious.
This song fills my heart - was my experience and testimony as a young Christian, and still is. The song of my first love for Jesus~
It would appear that I've come full circle. Back in the halcyon days of late 70's-early 80's contemporary Christian music, I became a bona fide rock music aficionado, gravitating towards those artists and bands who were producing progressive rock and heavy metal statements of Christian conviction. Meanwhile, artists who employed a gentler approach as they wrote simply yet skillfully about the Most Holy Faith - John Michael Talbot, The 2nd Chapter of Acts, Kemper Crabb and yes, Bob Ayala - took a backseat to the 'high-voltage' bands that I was enraptured with. Well. That was then and this is now. And now, I find my universe being constricted and expanded at the same time. And I find myself divesting myself of much that once enthralled me...... Whether Hollywood films, television shows, 'fluff' literature, 'fluff' social media sites, whatever. Meanwhile, I find myself gravitating towards those same musical pilgrims whom I had listened to once, but had never truly appreciated at the time. I remember meeting Bob Ayala here in London, Ontario when he was on tour with Melody Green, performing as part of the Keith Green Memorial Tour Crusade. I had purchased his first 3 albums - 'Joy By Surprise,' 'Wood Between The Worlds' and 'Journey,' and had marvelled at the intelligence that marked both his songs and his album artwork. At the time, I was producing a 90-minute Christian radio program entitled 'Changes' on the local university station, so I was granted both a press pass and the privilege of interviewing Bob backstage after the crusade. So enamoured was I by Bob's Christian worldview that I wrote to him, asking for his impressions of recordings by fellow Christian thinkers such as Steve Taylor's 'Meltdown.' And guess what? Bob wrote back to me! I'll never forget his response to my Steve Taylor query: His favourite song from Meltdown was 'Sin For A Season,' rather than the more popular radio-friendly hits. This spoke volumes about Bob, his perceptivity and his passion for right thinking and holy living. I still get a shiver down my spine when I behold the album artwork of either version of 'Joy By Surprise.' Bob has just stepped through the stable door that C.S. Lewis envisioned in The Last Battle, Book 7 of The Chronicles of Narnia. And there in front of him, big as life, Bob beholds - in perfect 20/20 vision, no less - his heart's deepest longing: Aslan, the son of the Great Emperor-Over-Sea. That single album cover conveys more power than all of the pulpit-pounding sermons I've ever borne witness to, and I've heard my share of dandies. I was in my mid-20's before I read 'The Magician's Nephew,' so alas, I didn't comprehend the significance of the title of Bob's sophomore album "Wood Between The Worlds' until years after our fateful encounter. So now here I am, 55 years old, a retired Canada Post letter carrier, and I'm just rediscovering the depths of Bob's songwriting prowess. There are many gems to be mined within his musical portfolio, and although I would dearly love to purchase and own CD's (or at least digital downloads) of his entire discography, at least Broadjam is providing the wherewithal for me to become reacquainted with an old friend. Because Bob truly is 'an old friend,' even though we only met once..... By virtue of his songwriting legacy. Yours in the Keeper of the Fire and the Wind, PhiLiP s. It's nice to finally make contact with you. Years ago you and I performed on stage for a Calvary Chaple in San Diego area. You sang, we did puppets. Been looking for your music for years.
Wood Between the Worlds is beautiful music!
Great music and messages. Happy to reconnect with his music after many years.
It's been some time since I last heard Bob Ayala, I bought the Rescued album from Last Days Ministries back in 1985 and considered it a fantastic album back then. Listening to the album again just shows the quality of the songwriting, production and musicianship, as well as the subject matter. I'm looking forward to hearing Bob's later work.
