I really enjoyed listening to this track! The title itself immediately appealed to me...I love all things winter and I have to confess, I have never once in my life, ever thought about what winter in China must be like! I really appreciated the haunting, repeated riff/melody that was playing throughout...it struck me as being half snake charmer and half the howling wind! I could quite easily see this track being used for a movie/tv show set in Beijing with a character exploring the city for the first time, but with the twist of it being winter rather than the predictable summer. Nice work!
Thank you for listening! It's all a bit of fun really as I'm only just beginning to dabble in electronic music, especially as other methods of making music are quite difficult given the current times. I'm glad I managed to capture some essence of China and I must say I too thought the track would fit well in a travel vlog or something similar. Also, I implore you to travel to China if you ever get the chance. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to hearing more of your new music!
You have certainly given me a feel for China! Maybe once 'this' is all sorted out, I'll look into it further. I will keep an eye out for any of your future tracks!
I couldn't help but wish for some string arrangement. Nevertheless the song succeeds in evoking feelings on loneliness due to its simplicity and chord choices. Simple and effective, but perhaps it could be more.
A lovely listen. The track has a musical theatre vibe but not in that cheesy sense. Rather, it is well polished and evokes a sense of sadness while still leaving you with hope; fitting well with the description. The voice and the strings support each other well although I do feel that the piano is perhaps a little upstaging at times. The chordal changes are seamless and the change at 1min25s is particularly wonderful. A simple little piece that delivers.
Hi there, Thank you SO much for the lovely review! It is my first on Broadjam and I couldn't have asked for a more honest and positive review-really humbled. This is a track that is a little away from my normal style but takes me back to my piano roots. I will take a look at your profile and reciprocate the review. Thanks again, Robert Quigley
