Cary Farley Bio
Cary Farley holds the key to the music industry's most thought provoking music. Without limitations of words, our tranquil thoughts are the lyrics that lie within his songs. Listening to his music is like a mental massage and falls under the category of "captivating". Cary is subdued and sober by nature and to equal extent, such traits enable him to create music that mesmerizes, seduces and enchant. Unlike traditional instrumental musicians, Cary's music resonates with a mixture of alternative and contemporary melodic overtones that are soft and subtle with an underlying edginess.
Growing up in an artistic family, Cary, the youngest of three boys, was introduced to music by his mother and father. Cary was seven years old when he learned to play the organ and often performed at special care institutions and recitals. During his preteen years Cary continued his love of music and also enjoyed the outdoors, BMX racing, and various sports. Cary transitioned into the guitar with inspiration and influence from his brothers and friends during high school and into college. He studied and earned his Master's Degree in health science while recording solo guitar and piano demo tapes on a 4-track recorder and performing in local bars and hot spots for an alternative rock band, Stone River. After the band went their separate ways, Cary continued to pursue his passion and performed solo shows in coffee shops and restaurants, art galleries, wineries, and other special engagements.
Cary currently resides in Northern California, where he continues to craft his music and teach Health classes at a local high school. Cary enjoys working with his students, counseling them, sharing his own experiences to reach them and encouraging them to set their own goals. Aside from teaching, Cary is in high demand for intimate venues around Northern and Central California. With his authentic and distinct music style Cary's music is widely used by the film and music industry and for the field of health and wellness. His latest and best selling CD, Unwind contains a one hour-long continuous composition. Cary is currently working with filmmakers and writing new music in the studio.
