Bio
Stir up a blend of country and blues, flavor with a little jazz, and the resulting dish is unique music from songwriter and guitarist Bart Ambrose. The songs on this website are a sampling of his catalog, and are presented here as demos available for recording and licensing purposes
Bart credits his early musical influences to such diverse artists as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, The Ventures, Waylon Jennings, Chet Atkins, Wes Montgomery, the Beatles, the Eagles, and many others. He is at home playing and writing in many musical genres, but his first love has always been country.
Raised on a cotton farm near Phoenix, AZ, his roots in country music run deep. His mother taught him to sing while they worked in the fields, teaching him enduring traditional country songs. His older brother played guitar and idolized the simple stylings of Johnny Cash, and taught Bart his first few guitar chords.
Bart's musical career spans playing rock in his early years, then moving on to country as a lead guitarist and vocalist in bands playing around Arizona. He pursued his early interest in jazz and became the guitarist for the band "Fourfront", playing jazz and blues throughout northern California.
His music gives a nod to his early guitar influences, with catchy guitar hooks a hallmark of his writing style. Bart absorbed latino music growing up in Arizona, and later developed a love for island music through extensive travel in the Hawaiian islands and Micronesia. These influences are woven into many of his songs.
Bart lives and writes in Nashville, Tennessee.
