Backwater Productions is a home-based facility maintaining a fully functional 32 track digital recording set-up.

It was created as the main outlet for artist Donovan Cox to record his solo material. Backwater Productions has become a place where local artists can come and record new demos/albums. Working directly with Donovan in a very personalized setting creates a great atomsphere and solid recordings.

Donovan Cox wears many hats, as a songwriter, he has successfully written and performed music in hard rock, indie rock, rap, country, pop, electronica, and experimental. He focuses on not only what audience he is writing for, but to make the best song possible. For Backwater Productions, he serves as engineer and producer.

As Backwater evolves, it will expand into a label promoting independant artists, overseeing music promotion, cd/booklet design, music production, and booking. Look for some great material in the near future from the studio.

Donovan Cox is a multi-instrumentalist.

He began playing drums at about 12. He then moved onto guitar, piano, mandolin, and other percussive instruments.

At 18 he formed the now defunct, Fracture, playing shows through Northwest GA for several years.

After he left Fracture, he began to play solo for several years, focusing less on the prowress of a full band, and more on the subtleties that make a solo acoustic performance powerful.

Creative songwriting, age, and the ability to fully produce and record his own material has made his songwriting something to experience.

He is still producing a large amount of various material that he has written while starting to record and produce local artists/groups.
