Story Behind The Song
In Copenhagen there's a growing army of homeless that the Govt. steadfastly continues to ignore. The idea had been on my mind for some time to try to bring some attention to their plight and one night it just happened.
Song Description
Well, I've been there a few times myself. One day the world seems rosy without end, you're building your personal empire then, crash, it's all taken away from you and you're on the street.

Homeless
© bo callaby 2009
I shuffle 'cross the pavement , head hanging down
You call me a loser, call me a clown
Now I'm just a homeless hiding my tears
But I used to be a powerhouse, a man of ideas
And you in your shiny car
Drinking in your fancy bar
I know just what you are, I used to be like you (used to be like you)
I sleep in doorways to stay out of the rain
I'm sick in my body, tired in my brain
Life was so good to me before we hit the Crash
The house, the car, the parties, pockets full of cash
But you, with your diamond ring
Surround yourself with pretty things
You can't tell me anything, I used to be like you (used to be like you)
What would you do, if all your worst nightmares came true
What would you say if your whole world broke down this way
Lose your job, your house, your wife
Lose your children, goodbye life
Give me some small change, throw me a pound
My bottle's empty, I need another round
I don't drink for pleasure, I drink to forget
Yesterday's a lost cause, tomorrow's a lost bet
And you, in your city banks
Sitting on your fatty shanks
You owe me a vote of thanks, this coulda happened to you, yeah
This could happen to you, yeah
It can happen to you
