Truman was born in the heart of Memphis, TN. He gained the southern flair of soul and at a young age he knew it. He began to realize his passion for music at the age of two. Unfortunately, his life took a turn no one knew the outcome of. Truman was rushed to the hospital after being in a car accident, of course he survived, but he was left handicapped in his right arm. Fortunately, not even car accidents could keep him from music. He would move to the rhythms in his hospital bed and beat on pots and pans, his mother would say.
And though he survived, not everyone's journey is the same. Truman suffered many loses of friends and the hardest one, his mother. He was on the brink of losing his mind, wanting to give up and feeling there was no reason for him to live any longer. He carried a guilty conscious that made him believe his loved ones death was his fault. The harder it became for him, the more he seeked answers. Finally, he asked God, "Why won't you just take me out of this world". He listened long enough to receive the answer he had been praying for. "Listen, it's not about what I can do for you, but what you can do for me". Life had given him something more special than death, music.
By the time Truman turned twenty-four, he had been around the world working with many well known artists. By doing so, he began to realize the kind of music he wanted to make that was performed and or produced by some of the greatest artists such as Kirk Franklin, Jay-Z, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, The Roots, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Green, Dave Matthews Band, Foreign Exchange, John Mayer, Ledisi, Lupe Fiasco, Frankie Beverly and more.
