A cold, dry northerly wind of the Mediterranean provinces of France, the mistral wind is unpredictable. The Mystrals can be just as unpredictable; they are classy, ballsy, bluesy, and sometimes jazzy while they also play American roots rock with an alternative County feel. They are versatile female musicians who know how to have a good time!
The Mystrals have had several different lineups, over the years, but the band was originally founded by guitarist singer songwriter Donna Owen & Drummer vocalist Amy Crittenden who met while attending Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA. Soon after, they record a 3 song demo, and submitted it to a few independent record labels, which resulted in an offer to release one of the songs, “Little Boys" as a single on X/S Records (a small independent label distributed by Rough Trade).
The following year, they added Guitarist Patti Ambs (now Spadero) and using a few different bassists, they wrote and recorded 1
