My Bio

I am a recent graduate from TCI College in New York City where I obtained my Associates Degree in Digital Media Arts, I have been producing Beats since 2005 and have a keen interest in the Audio/Visual field.

My journey in music began when I was a young boy, my mom use to take my sister and I to all the stage shows at The Brooklyn Fox and Paramount Theaters and I had great aspirations of being the next Jackie Wilson or Ben E. King. I really loved performing in front of the mirror while playing back the shows albums. When I was 10 years old my mom gave me a guitar and I started taking lessons from a neighborhood friend whose father played guitar with the Famous Ink Spots. Later I began to sing harmonies with my boys on the streets and in the hallways in my Brooklyn neighborhood.

I developed my musical tastes and interests, listening to The Temptation, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, The OJays, Stevie Wonder, The Delfonics, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Jive Five, The Drifters, Clyde McPhatter, The Iceman, Jerry Butler, Lionel Richie and the Commodores, and Curtis Mayfield. So I have a strong background in R&B, but I also love the funk of James Brown, Slave, and The Ohio Players. I also love the Hip Hop genre. The Tracks I produce for www.richbeats.com are a mix of Old School R&B, Reggae, Latin and Hip Hop and my take on it all. Its all about the music that a whole generation grew up on.

I have sang backup harmonies in several groups in the New York and California areas, and have also sang backup for artist such as Phyliss Roundtree and Rikki Ribbers.

Presently I am working on Music for an artist named TaNeal, she is a vocalist and song arranger from Ohio, I also produced Tracks for Nicole Rue's Erotic Gifts here in New York City. Recently I had a track placed in a Independent Movie to be released September 2010. So my returning to school to earn my Bachelors Degree is my attempt to take my music to the next level.
