Rob Cremona

Rob Cremona was born in London and later moved to Malta as a child. He spent his early 20s in the 1970s/80s in Italy and London as a session player due to his masterful dexterity on a number of instruments.

Following a stroke in 2002, he has had to slow down and in the last 8 years he has concentrated on compositions for jingles for TV ads such as Abbey National Bank, Pepsi, and many others.

Better known amongst musicians for his dry sense of humour and legendary infinite patience, yet his obsessive attention to detail, Rob always manages to get the best out of himself and all who work with him no matter how late into the night it went...

His talents on guitar solos, keyboard layering and eclectic instrumentation were used on recordings in session work with other artists from the late Archie Shepp in the 1970s to more recent recordings with 'Modern Romance','Tracey Chapman', 'Aztec Camera', 'Curiosity Killed The Cat','The Brand New Heavies' in the 80s.90s and 00s.

In 1981 he was commissioned to write a number of incidental links for the the newly estalished Channel 4 television. For three years he stayed there as a resident composer writing for commercials, most memorably on the 'Love Series', a number of short films directed by Sir David Puttnam which were specially commissioned by Channel 4 TV.

His talents on guitar solos, keyboard layering and eclectic instrumentation were used on recordings in session work with other artists from the late Archie Shepp in the 1970s, to more recent recordings with 'Modern Romance','Tracey Chapman', 'Aztec Camera', 'Curiosity Killed The Cat','The Brand New Heavies' in the 80s/90s/00s.

Rob's compositions were used by South African choreographer Zelide Jeppe who enlisted his help at Richmond's 'Centre Dance' productions where he scored a number of contemporary exciting works in 1994 such as: 'Leap Into Dance' at Richmond Theatre, Surrey and 'Resolution' at The Place, London.

By the late 90's Cremona signed on to Harvest Records releasing 2 instrumental CDs playing popular covers on piano and acoustic guitar respectively.

Rob's most recent solo CDs are: 'All In The Mind'(1999) and 'Reasons for all Seasons'.
(2002)
Peoplesound UK/Broadjam USA.

'Take Up The Challenge' was recently short-listed as one of the anthems for the London Olympics 2012 opening ceremony.

Rob lives in a small village outside Woking, Surrey, UK, with his wife and three children, and occasionally still gigs in and around Surrey and London.
