Curtis S.D. Macdonald, American composer, performer, and music editor for film and television.. His career has been devoted to exploring the relationship of music and technology, creating memorable contemporary instrumental works that are realized by computer, as well as works for computer and live instruments, interactive multimedia, narrative film and video.
The music Curtis creates evokes emotional and passionate feelings. Through his expressive blend of smooth jazz and new age, he stylizes his arrangements with an effervescent and transparent wash of electronica. Passive and hypnotic sustains, filtered expressive pointillism combined with rhythmic grooves create the foundation for the memorable melodies and lyrical improvisations performed with a single voice acoustic piano.
His jazz influences from his upbringing can be heard on the tune “Grean Means Go” from the CD “Grandcascade” amd "Open House" from the CD "Gold Coast" available at CDbaby.com. Essence of Bob James and Dave Grusin with a touch of new school acid jazz makes this a favorite with the cocktail crowd.
