Bio
Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Joshua was exposed to musical influences from the beginning. His father's family had operated a highly successful record business for many years and this was instrumental in formulating a solid musical foundation. Though he could not read, Joshua learned music by recognizing the colors and pictures on the labels of the records. He would play them over and over until the various tunes and melodies would cause him to unwittingly hum his own songs.
When he was eight, his mother took he and his brother, Benjamin, to regularly scheduled piano lessons. Joshua studied piano for the next ten years.
In college, Joshua continued to regularly play piano. He also studied music theory and continued to compose music.
Though a pharmacist by training, Joshua believes that his first calling still is music. He composes piano music and writes songs whenever he is not practicing pharmacy at the hospital. Joshua prefers not to concentrate on only one style, but rather tries to write in multiple modes. He has written New Age instrumental piano songs, Latin pop pieces, slow romantic ballads, and is presently working on a country song. He also arranges contemporary music for the piano.
