Terry began his musical career early in life in his hometown of Victoria, BC. His mother Betty, a singer, bought him his first guitar for his fifth birthday. Throughout his teen years he sang and performed with different bands around Victoria and attended Craigdarrache Music Conservatory. In the 60's he traveled and performed throughout Mexico, Florida, New York State and Hawaii.

Returning to Victoria he helped design and build Keye Studios where he recorded his first single "Freezin' Cold Blues" and "Island Magic" 1979. The song was well received by local radio stations. Terry continued to perform and became a popular guest on CHEK-TV's Daybreak Show. He relocated to Vancouver in 1980. At Mushroom Studios Terry assisted with recording projects including albums by Terry Jacks and Loverboy. His album "The Best of Both Sides" was recorded at Mushroom in 1981.

Terry traveled throughout BC performing and promoting the album, which received substantial airplay at radio stations all over the Province with articles in local newspapers, as well as the Vancouver Sun, the Province and the prestigious Vancouver Magazine. "The Best of Both Sides" went on to receive national and international airplay and sales from the USA to Europe, Australia and Japan.

Throughout the late 80's Terry continued to perform, write and produce, now at his own Island Magic Studios on Bowen Island as well as at Mushroom and other Vancouver studios. He worked as sound mixer with Limelight Production's Chris DeBurgh's "Man on a Wire" tour and with Bruce Allen on Bryan Adams "Run To You" video album. Back on Bowen Island, Terry collaborated with many local musicians, assisting them by producing and recording their own original creations. He formed the wildly popular "Bowen Island Blues Committee" a 12 piece blues band that performed at venues and events around the Island. He was the creative music director for :"Bowfest", the Island's annual festival for many years, enlisting old friends Valdy and Ann Mortifee to perform.

In the early 90's, at the request of friend of neighbour Mort Graham, a freelance creative director, Terry began writing music and jingles for TV and radio commercials, soon counting Hemlock Valley Ski Resort, BC Jockey's Hastings Raceway, Georgia Interiors, Stacy's Furniture, Jubilee Motors, Honda and Ford amongst satisfied customers. He was also asked to write scores for training and educational videos for The Justice Institute of BC, BC Ferries and Worksafe BC. His success spurred him on to compose and write original scores for feature films, TV series, specials and movies including Phil Reimer's BCTV series "The Forest and the People", TSN special "Montreal Expos 20th Anniversary Special", CBC TV Special "Powder 8 Ski Championships", CBC Series: "Legalwise", "NHL Breakaway", "Howe Street Week" and "Medicine Wheel". Terry's original score was featured in the animated short "Night Cafe" at the Boston Animation Festival.

Wicks
