Luther is an award winning singer/songwriter. Over the years his work has been recognized in contests sponsored by the USA Songwriting Competition, Songdoor International, the Mid-Atlantic Songwriter's Association, the Atlanta Songwriter's Association, the Louisville Area Songwriter's Association, and the Arkansas Songwriter's Association.

He is a member of BMI and and active member of the Nashville Songwriter's Association International(NSAI).
