Hi, thanks for the review of Highway Song. This comes from my concept album 'Eagle' which follows a young native indian boys search from his modern day unfulfilling life back to his cultural roots. Inspired by the memory of granddads tales of trees- impossibly tall, how birds would sing and call and how the soldiers took it all, he sets off hitching down the highway to where he thinks it all happened. This doesn't work as well out of context and I'm thinking of taking the whole album out of review because it was written to be listened to (perhaps indulgently) as a flowing story. Anyway, thanks again for the comments and good luck for the future.
Hi there, Thank you for the review of my sixteen tons...I am glad you liked it and my voice....because I am a wife I choose to sing in the 3rd person, I always thought it was a mans song and to sing it in the first person made me feel like I was the one in the mines...but I must say in the old days in scotland women where in the mines as well....loved your Hot Damn Nellie, it was quite the story....by the way my mothers name was Nellie and she would put whiskey under her tongue for pain after a very difficult surgery years ago...I think she was afraid of medicine for that reason...again thank you a friend in music
