Imagine someone fell asleep in 1697 and woke up in 2023. What would you teach them? History? Science? Technology? As a musician I would introduce them to the last 300 years of music. I tried to put different styles, genres and cultural influences into this project. The goal was not to simply perform classical music with modern instruments or vice versa but to blend different types of music creating contrast by adding elements that do not exist in the same period. There are numerous examples in the visual arts, paintings as well as photography. Just imagine a person microwaving popcorn in a Shakespearian kitchen...
