Describing the music of midwestern songwriter/performer Kellie Lin Knott leads listeners to interesting comparisions. Fans suggest that her voice is a ‘cross between Alanis Morissette’s contraltro bravada & Billie Holiday’s subtle, sexy delivery’, that her harmonic, rhythmic and lyrical sensibilities are purely ‘Joni Mitchell’, & that her groove driven acoustic guitar parts are fueled with an early Ani Difranco-like energy. Yet her touch is deceptively light, & her lyrics imbued with a graceful intention.
Songs from Comfortable, KLK's latest CD, have won KLK a spot on“Best of Boston” 2004 compilation, 1st place in an International Songwriting Competition, & laud from the International Acoustic Music Awards. These days, Berklee College of Music educated KLK is found on the road at venues nationwide or testing new material in the subways of Boston, MA. The young road warrior is a full time musician, &, like pop-star Jewel before her, lives quite happily from her vehicle.

?....a knack for words and voice to match....Her style is enthusiastic, yet never overpowering....sings and plays and writes for all she?s worth?which is quite a lot. RATING: **** (4 out of 5 Stars)?

? Over deft, breezy instrumentation, her vocals sound splendidly assured.... lyrics of considerable wit....and no little wisdom. More succinctly: wow!?

"....perhaps the best moment is on Knott's "Bring On The Rain," a powerful ballad about a young woman asking for trouble so she can become a stronger person...."

?the best on the bill is 24 year old Kellie Lin Knott, whose voice leaps around like Joni Mitchell?s on ?Another Verse?, a song about love that manages to refer to Hemingway, Debussy, and Monet without being pretentious. Knott started singing with her father?s Top-40 bar band when she was 8,

Bio
Kellie Lin?s first full-length CD, Comfortable, is now for sale at www.kellielinknott.com. Songs from Comfortable have won KLK a spot on?Best of Boston? 2004 compilation , 1st place in an International Songwriting Competition, and laud from the International Acoustic Music Awards earlier. These days, Berklee College of Music educated Kellie Lin is found on the road at venues nationwide or testing new material in the subways of her adopted hometown of Boston, MA. The young road warrior makes her full time living from performance and CD sales, &, like pop-star Jewel before her, lives quite happily from her vehicle - a 1998 Toyota Corolla.
Barely into her second year of college, Kellie Lin hit a road block & was forced to stop playing guitar for 2 years due to arm injuries. Several doctors insisted she would never play again. She returned home to MN as she searched for a solution to her difficult situation. After 2 successful surgeries, Kellie Lin proved the naysayers wrong by returning to Boston to finish her guitar training.
Kellie has since worked with The Spirit of Boston, The Roots Agency, and The International Folk Alliance in various positions such as singing/dancing cocktail waitress, music publicist, booking agent, concert promoter and artist manager. In July 2003, she gave up all of her ?day jobs? to pursue performance full-time.
