Joseph Kamaru was a Kenyan Benga Musician and Political Activist, one of the most influential musician and artists in Kenya with a large music output of over 2,000 songs. His engagement with the music for more than fifty seventy (57) years brings topical issues, social commentary, political satire and deep Cultural (Gikuyu) traditions.His discography addresses issues including;- Songs for struggle of independence (Nyimbo Cia Mau Mau), Love Songs, Prophetic Songs, Adults only songs (Kikuyu Folk Songs), Social and Political Commentary and Sacred songs: CAMP series.
