I was born in North Carolina and raised in New York. I grew up listening to R&B, Disco, Rock, Pop, Dance and Gospel. It played a key role in influencing my songwriting and singing. At the age of 14, I began songwriting and I haven't stopped since. Growing up in a family that was Southern bred; gospel and R&B were the backbone of my household. Disco music was drilled into my skull and loved in my home. As I got older freestyle became my thing. As I was growing up, hip hop was emerging as the music of choice in my neighborhood and disco was becoming underground. By the time I was 18, I explored the world of New York Night Life and after hour parties where disco fled to and morphed into house music. From this, my love of club music and its mystic were a key influence in my style as a singer and a songwriter. In 1996, I became founder and CEO of my indie label Curvy Records. After releasing my first club hit “Walkaway” which was a moderate hit in dance clubs and abroad.
About Andrea Carnell
My name Andrea Carnell. My parents were also "Studio 54" children. Disco music was drilled into my skull and loved in my home. I on the other hand was obsessed with Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and groups like Dead or Alive. I have performed my song at clubs such as Club Vinyl and Body & Soul. After taking a 10 year break from music, I have emerged as a better producer, a better songwriter and a better singer. I have had Vocal Training for 10 years and have learned how to maneuver my way around a studio, forming such funky, fun and energetic beats for my love of dance music.
